| Yorkie and New baby Hello everyone I need some help... I have 2 female yorkies who are 2 years old they are my babies and they are very attached to me... Am having a baby my due date is Nov. 6 am not sure what to do to get them use to the fact that there is going to be a baby coming soon... I know they sense something because they are very protective of me and one of my yorkies has been pooping in the baby's room... Any suggestions thank you |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Congratulations. I have heard of people who once the baby is born bring a blanket with the baby's scent on it home from the hospital and let them get use to the scent. I would just let them slowly get use to having a baby around and never leave them alone with the baby until you know they are fine with him or her. When I had my daughter, I had a yorkie and I had my parents bring her in and I went right to the bedroom and gave Zorro special attention. It took him about 2 days to adjust and he was fine from then on.

| on expecting! I agree, takes lots of time for them to get used to all the new sounds and smells. Making sure they know they are still special I think is also so important. It was a rough pregnancy and he was my "right hand man" throughout the whole 9 months of illness. But he honestly never forgave me for having that baby! And that was 8 months ago. He is now my husband's dog and totally happy and content but it really was hard for me to let him decide when we brought Tay home. Peggy, Monkey & Maddie

| Congrats! I am expecting as well. Due Nov 15th and have the same worries as you. Bobby has been attached to me since day one. I am very anxious on how he will react to bringing home the baby. |
