| ![]() "She does not want to show her dogs. they are AKC registered. she said that she registered her past litters with AKC but buyers were wanting a show puppy but did not have any intention on showing the pup therefore she NOW just registers her litters with CKC. __________________ *DeKetra & Albert* " That still doesn't make sense - the buyers wanted a show puppy but had no intention to show - so the breeder went to CKC? CKC doesn't show yorkies for confirmation, so why would she go to a kennel club that doesn't show at all! If she wanted the people to show - she should have a contract and state that they would have to show. That doesn't always guarantee they will show. But her answer - just sent a red flag because she doesn't seem to know what she is talking about or is trying to give you a load of you know what to get you to believe her to buy one of her dogs. YorkieRose - you are so right! You go girl! I have heard the same from my club members at our meetings. ![]() T. |

| ![]() Robbie...I am the first to admit I am a registration snob..I can be very open minded in many areas, but this gets to me because so many breeders lie about why they use a non-AKC registry. If I was buying a pet, registry would mean nothing to me...infact I would not care if it had papers at all. What it looked like and it's personality would be all that counted. Best wishes |

| ![]() I was just wondering what is wrong with her now regeristering her pups with CkC if they are pet only and no one wants to show them. But just as someone said earlier since all her breeding dogs are AKC registered the pup can still be correct. |

But I wanted to know if it sounded okay for her to register a litter with only CKC if the pup is for a pet only. I guess there are alot of red flags afterall. |

| ![]() Also check to see if she has been suspended from AKC for some reason...you can call them or there is a website to check. Sorry I don't have the link right now but search YT, and try "Breeder Suspension List" in google or other search engine. And ask for some recent references... Good luck and keep us posted, look forward to "meeting" your new baby soon!

| ![]() I don't know if this is actually true or not, but I have been informed (by a person at AKC) that if a pup is registered with the AKC, it can also be registered with the CKC, but nor the other way around. Meaning that the CKC recogonizes (sp) the AKC, but the AKC does not recognozie the CKC. I don't know what the cost difference is, but the $15.00 AKC registration doesn't sound to expensive to me. I register my "litters" with the AKC. The AKC does a great job with keeping records and such. I don't know what kind of "customer satisifaction" (for lack of better wording) the CKC gives. There are a few questionable things the AKC does, but for the most part, they're good. Suz |

| ![]() [QUOTE=yorkiemom1970] i have heard so many times in posts and reading on web sites that ckc isnt worth the paper they are written on. QUOTE] Of course they're not worth anything if you come accross a dishonest breeder. But then again, the same could be said for AKC, now couldn't it? |

| ![]() The breeder is sounding "throwed off" to me. What difference does it make if someone wanted show quality as a pet only? I thought AKC was to register purebred dogs? And I just registered my puppy Jagger and for $37 it got him his AKC papers and a life-long enrollment in the Lost Dog Reward Recovery Program..a minimal fee indeed. I think she didn't know what she was talking about and thought you wouldn't know either.

| ![]() It really doesn't matter if she uses AKC or CKC. That is her preference. But the point is that her explanation of why she changed is not adding up - it doesn't make sense. Just sounds fishy to me! Have you asked her to clearify more? Best of luck. There are honest breeders out there that will be upfront with their buyers. And if this one sounds fishy - what else is she not being honest with. You will find the right baby for you. ![]() T. |
