| Brining a new yorkie in to our home Hello, this is my fist post here. We currently have 2 yorkies. We do not have any children so our puppies our like our kids. We have had Star for 2 years now and have spoiled her like a child ( I know not the best thing to do but we can't help out selves). She is very well trained and well behaved and decided it was time to get another addition. Before getting Preston (about 4 weeks ago) we did our homework. Best way to bring a new puppy into a home with a resident dog, how to treat resident dog, how to treat puppy, you name it we looked it up. Well the fist few days did not go so well. Which was expected. Preston does't really know "puppy etiquette" just yet and Star would get a little annoyed. After a few days they got along great. Always playing and doing everything with each other. Now for the past few days it seems that Star is getting annoyed with Preston again. We just do not know why or what to do. Out of no where it was like being back a square one again. Has anyone experience this before? Is it normal? How do you handle this? Thanks so much |

| Hello and welcome. I am the Mom of 6 babies. I have had the same problem with my little ones, with the arrival of a new baby. It is normal for the adjustment period to go back and fourth. Do not worry it gets better. They will be best buds real soon. What is the ages of the babies? Do you show a little extra love to Star? That is what I had to do. Also, Walk them together ,a little more then before, That seems to help as well. I also noticed with mine that is was a little worse in the evening time, Then I realized that it was because they were over tired. Because having someone else to keep them going ,that wore them out and they were a little grumpy. I will lay or sit down with them all, let them take a nap and that would help. I do not know about yours but mine will not go off and play or lay down if I am up walking around, They follow me every where I go. Good luck. And A big Welcome to Y.T.

| Star is 2 1/2 years and Preston is about 13 weeks. We try our best to show Star extra love and have alone playtime. I did try walking them together ( I read that it makes them a pack) but with Preston so young and being his first walk did not go so well. It was more of Star walking and me carrying Preston. Thanks for the advice and making me feel better that this is normal! |

| Welcome and congratulations on your new little one! I think it just takes time for them to figure out how it will all work out. I also think it is important to make sure the little one doesn't annoy Star too much and to give her the ability to perhaps even correct him a bit the way his Yorkie momma would have. I think it sounds like the nomal adjustment period. Soon neither you nor Star will know how you got along without Preston. Peggy, Monkey & Maddie
