| If you didn't get a Yorkie, what would your 2nd choice be? Saw this on another forum, thought it was a good question.I was thinking of getting a Pug or Boston terrier, befor I got Max.If I were to get a big dog,it would probably have been a Boxer.Glad I got Max,I made the right choice.

| We have an aussie now and just love her. So I would vote for another aussie or a sheltie. We've had two shelties and they are incredible dogs. Love the herding dogs. They are great family dogs and keep close track of everyone in the house. Not to mention they patrol your yard and property with a vengeance.

| I think right now I'd say Scottish Terrier. I really love dogs and my answer would probably change daily. I wanted Yorkies for so long its really hard to say if I'd ever get another breed now.

| It would definitely be another type of terrier. I just love the in-your-face spunk, their energy, and their strong personalities.

| Before I got my yorkie , I also loved the shih Tzu breed.. It was a toss up for several months. I did get a yorkie though first, and ended up getting a shih tzu a yr later . I really like pugs, westies, & fox terriers too

| I have a great love for dogs and at the same time, I was cursed with dog allergies!! I got a Yorkie because they were the cutest among the so-called hypoallergenic dogs. Now I have two I'd love to get a Shetland Sheepdog or an Australian Shepherd or a Golden Retriever or the favourite of the month: an English Springer Spaniel. But this will have to wait until I have a family who can help give the dog attention (because I can't touch it as much as I do with my Yorkies). I refuse to let my allergies get in the way of owning all the dogs I want

| I've raised 3 English Bulldogs and they are gentle and sweet. But, I would not be able to handle their size and strength anymore. So, I would want to go with a Schnauzer or a long-haired dachshund. I also thought about a Pomeranian, but the shedding would be a big problem for me.

YT 2000 Club Member | We had Prissy, poodle, for seven years before we brought home our darling Jasmine, yorkie, so I would get another poodle. We love Prissy's disposition, she is always such a lady, very well behaved, extremely smart and loyal. If I ever got another big dog again, it would prob. be a German Shephard. I always had German Shephards when I was raising my children and they were so good with them rough housing, very loyal and a lot of fun. However, I doubt I will ever have a big dog again, too much dog for me to handle any more, but I do love the breed.

| my favorite small breed picks(of course, Yorkies being #1):Westies, Jack Russells, Scottish Terriers, Pekingese, and the Bolonka Zwetna breed is nice also, although only recognized by small groups outside of the US (Bichon Frise variation). my favorite large breed picks: Alaskan Malamute, Bullmastiff, Great Danes, Weimaraners, and Whippets.
