The first time I took my little groomers was a nightmare. I know she didn't have any mats and I told the groomer i didn't want her hair cut. She said okay I'll just shaper her up. I guess that meant hair cut and I didn't know it. But it eventually grew back and I still take her to the same groomer because of how she treats them.

Relax it will grow up very soon. Yorkies are Hair machines. The only thing that you have to do now is not to show your baby that you feel sorry or that he looks ugly. They can understand those feelings and they feel bad. Just act normal and the hair will be back before you know it.

Actually his color at 6 months can still change. Rio is 18 months now and looks completely different (a gorgeous steel blue and golden blond) than what she looked like at 6 months. It can take up to 2-3 years for some Yorkies to reach their final colors.

This happen to me. We took Nyke in for his first haircut. He had wavy black hair and when we picked him up he looked like a gray rat. Face still cute but so different. It's been a couple of months and he's still gray but his hair is longer and we actually like the shorter hair. In Houston it's pretty hot and I think he appreciated the shorter doo. When his hair was longer and he ran from my 3 year old he would slip and slide across the floor, now he has traction and he can hit corner pretty fast. We plan on keeping his hair shorter. Melissa

| Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I cried after Rhett's first grooming experience. The term "puppy cut" means different things to different people. LOL. But after I got used to it, I decided he was still my handsome boy. Now with Scarlett, I knew she had some mats (she hates being brushed) so I wasn't shocked when she came out. What did surprise me though was that she wouldn't let the groomer near her head. So she came out with a shaved body and a gigantic looking head. We've been calling her our little bobble head.
