| One puppy or two? Currently have two resident yorkies 14 and 5 years old. Will be adding one puppy to the family soon, but considering taking two from the same litter. Older yorkies are females and puppies would also be females. Any oppinions from anyone who made similar decision? |

| I've never done it, but it's often not recommend to get two puppies at the same time, especially with 4 females in the house. They call them bitches for a reason! LOL. Of course, some people are successful with 4 females but I wouldn't want to try it, especially with two from the same litter. More prone to fights. Two Puppies or One? - VeterinaryPartner.com - a VIN company! Here's a great article.

| I "heard" (years ago) that a person should have at least 3 - 6 months between getting puppies...lets each develop their own personality...like spacing one's children. I knew Gracie needed a friend other than me, hubby, and the cat (she suffered terribly from separation anxiety when I'd go to work) and so we got her a friend when she was about 9 months old. Though she gets very jealous of her friend now they certainly are bonded and it does help with the separation anxiety, though not completely. |

| second puppy I have a female she is 1yr old. And I really want to get her a sister. Do ya'll think the time is right. I have lupus and I have alot of bad days but my little sunshine sure makes me keep going? Would the baby get alone with older sister and would follow her to potting and dooing other things. And if so our would be the best way to bring home the new baby she is ready to go home now. Thanks raina |

| Hi I rehomed two fellas from the same litter and they are very close. But they also rough house/play/fight with great enthusiasm. Some times you'd think they were going to kill one another. But not yet. The other side of this coin is they sleep together, eat off the same plate-together-and act so much alike. I got them at about 5 months old so my older female might be some influence to the good. And she'll play with them but will not share her treats. Hope this helps. But if I had to do it again. I would always at least own two so they have built in company. Dion

| Our two girls are two months apart in age and we adopted them 2 months apart as well. Skye is a pit bull/german shepherd mix and Milli is a 7 lb. yorkie! And they get along perfectly! We were really worried at first about Skye hurting Milli but we found that she's very gentle (in a rough-housing doggie sort of way!) and doesn't hurt her little sister. They adore each other. We're talking about adopting another sister for them within the next year or so. |
