I got my little boy, Buzz, when Apple was 12 months old (right after her spay)...Buzz was 4 months old...This worked out, perfectly, for me...Buzz was being trained to a pee pad (Apple goes outside), and I think Apple encouraged him to go outside...I highly recommend getting one a little older (4 months or so), and I think your girl, being 12 months old is just right...
