| 11 yr old yorkie wants nothing to do with me My 11 yr old yorkie, JD, has decided he doesnt want to be around me. I think he is mad at me. For the last 6 months he has been avoiding me. He hangs out with my cousin that also lives here and sleeps with her if I let him. About a month ago my boyfriend moved in and now JD is glued to him. He has anyone can come to the house and he will prefer them to me. Lately when I am home alone with him he sit in the chair looking out the window waiting for someone, anyone. How can I make friends with him again? I love him so much and I am not mean to him and I dont hit or kick him, but he will act like I am going to and flinch away from me. If I corner him he will roll over on his back submissively tail tucked and ears down. I will pet him and talk nice to him but he can't wait to get away from me. Can anyone help me with this? |

| Have you tried calling him to you and then giving a scrumptious treat every time he comes? If he's food motivated you might win him back.

| I am sure this is frustrating, since you love him so much. I remember in the past one member posted about something like this. Cannot remember the person - Sorry. But, loved the solution - clicker training. Said her pup started getting very excited and totally changed. I am sure there are things about how to do clicker training on the web somewhere. Good luck with this.

| I think the treats will really help! That way he won't feel intimidated and cornered, and he will be in control and walking over to you for cuddles and pats!! Also, the walking would help too... what dog can resist a walk?! Good luck |

| hm... did you "love" him too much when he was a puppy? because some yorkies apparently doesn't like to be cuddled/bothered too much as a puppy. my parents said i did that to mine (i was only 9 y/o i always wanted to hang out w the dog) and ever since he avoids me as if i have some deadly plague however, if you don't feed him and don't take him for walks at all, that could be the problem i agree with other posters if your dog eats treats (my dog doesn't for some weird reason) try bribing him |
