YT Addict | Hazel went to to the Vet . . . First off: HI everyone! ok, so i did find an AMAZING vet right around the corner from where i live. Hazel had an appointment on Tuesday for her second shot. i was super scared. she was fine until she got up on teh steel table, then she started shaking and put her ears low. i could have cried! She got her ears cleaned, and didn't even jump or yelp when she got the needle. she did indeed have a staph infection as i already knew. they gave me some soap to clean her with once a day. she got a fecal test too. They called me yesterday to tell me she has Giardia (i think i spelled this right) i was soooo upset! i thought it was something i did but they explained to me that it is a very common parasite. she HATES her medicine. its a battle everytime i have to give it to her. otherwise shes a healthy puppy. just thought i would share! |

| I hope Hazel feels better soon. Be careful if you have other pets, because they can get giardia also....like mine did. You need to pick up her poop right away, whether inside or outside and put bleach on it. I poured bleach-water on every spot outside. It can stay in the ground for two months. Keep her clean of any on her little body too. She can reinfect herself. Hugs and kisses for your little girl! |

OH NO!!! no one told me that part of it! bleach water on the spots? my father will KILL ME because she has a "poop area" on the front lawn. is there anything else i could spray that wouldn't kill the grass? i usually wipe her butt when she poops and she isn't clean afterwards. and i do not have other pets. i do pick her popp up right away. as soon as it leaves her body. lol. should i just find her a new poop spot? | |

| I don't know. I adopted Tia at Easter and I still have bleach spots on my lawn. I have two other dogs. I was told that if I didn't, they could walk on that spot and potentially get infected (even after being picked up). It was a pain! |

YT Addict | bleach spots is certainly not going down on my dads front lawn. he'll murder me with one hand. AHHAHAH the front lawn = his baby as Hazel is mine. i'm surprised her lets her poop on it at all. LOL. but i think i'll just move her poop spot or just have her not go in that area at all. |

YT Addict | and i just got done texting the breeder (who is also my friend) she never took the puppies to get their fecals done. it was apart of her puppy package that she paid for, but she had to cancel her appointment because they called her into work. She still has one of the puppies. this is the puppy i was supposed to buy in the first place who's name is Laney, she said she thinks that she has giardia too! |
