YT Addict | Made With Love I'm starting to feel that chill in the air that tells me to start working on Miss Lula-mae's fall attire. I am taking a vacation in a week to Miami and plan to bring my knitting with me (I'm still 28, right?) so I can hopfully finish a sweater I have been working on while sipping cocktails on the beach. There are a variety of things that I have had to make for my 3 pound bratt as it is hard to find things that fit her in stores. I'm sure I'm not the only one forced into arts & crafts to keep their bratts happy. I am not very handy with a needle (knitting or sewing) and wonder what simple things others have made for their bratts. Anyone care to share some simple patterns, instructions or pictures on your pet care creations? In the winter Lula-mae lives in this home-made sweater. http://hphotos-snc3.fbcdn.net/hs075...._4445857_n.jpg I basically cut the sleave off of an old sweater and little holes for her legs. The cuff of the sleave is the collar of her sweater. Its long enough to cover her little butt and stretchy enough so she is comfortable wearing it around the house.

| Cute photo. Check where to carry your knitting needles on your flight. Do they need to go in the checked luggage? I have scissors taken away last year on a flight from Seattle to NJ.

| Have you tried googling "no sew fleece pet clothes"? I've seen some really cute poncho type coats that only need velcro added for closure. No hemming needed since fleece doesn't ravel out on it's edge |

I could never put my little girl through such humiliation. At least with the sweater sleave I can make it long enough to cover her little butt. This woman had that idea as well as a travel bed made from a hat box. Lula's bed is a pillow from an old blue and gold brocade sofa. Its super fancy and just the right size

YT Addict | http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._3156396_n.jpg Lula-mae Famous has always been more of a Coco Chanel type of girl. Frilly dresses and silly princess junk do not suit her at all. It's hard to find things to keep her warm that don't make her look like an old dog trying to re-live her whelping box days. If only I was crafty. I have the perfect doggie snow suit in my head.

YT Addict | I didn't have 10 sized bamboo needles at home so I picked up a pair. I also bought some new yarn that will hopfully serve as motavation.... While I'm slaving away with raw fingers for Miss Lula-mae... It would be fantastic to hear what things YT members have made for their bratts.

| Well darn....Thought maybe the fleece thing would work...do you happen to have a Half Price Books store near you? I've been picking up some really cool sewing for your diva type books there lately and I could have sworn that there was a Knitting & Crochet For Your Pet book the last time I was in. Also the pattern folders are really reasonable-for sewing, knitting or crochet LOL- I hit the store once a month and go to the same 3 areas: antiques/collectibles,crafts & pets. Thats where I picked up "The Image Makers"-a coffee table book with the publicity photos of the stars-including yes-Ms.Hepburn & Mr.Famous! Heres another idea-Martha Stewart's(sp?) website might have some nice patterns or ideas. |
