| ![]() I'm sorry to hear about little Tye. It sounds like he lived an amazing life. I'm not the greatest with words of comfort because I don't think anything but time will heal your heartache. I'm so sorry about your loss. ):

Are you feeding her 3-4 times daily? Does she get treats inbetween meals?

![]() I had there mum and dad too, i was waiting for my sasha to have her first season so she could then be spayed but my scampi had other ideas and some how opened 2 doors to get to her and 9 weeks later tye and zac were born, tye was 45 mins older than zac. Zac was starved of oxygen when he was born so hes a little slow but such a happy dog, hes nearly 17 now but is not doing to bad for his age, the only problem he has is a chronic eye infection but the meds help with that. Tye had had heart failure for about 3 years and the meds he was on for that in the end damaged his kidneys. He was only ill for 2 weeks with kidney failure, in his 16 years and 8 months thats the only time he was ever ill so i was very lucky with him, zac is the same as the only time he has ever been ill was when he eat a plastic toy when he was a puppy. I do have a rescue yorkie though called brandi shes about 5 and a kind of rescue/secondhand dog ![]() ![]()

I was talking to Jimmy when we were looking for a Furbaby, and I brought to his attention that we would still be parents of the Furbaby after our kids graduate from high school (they are 5 and 6). Such a big, yet rewarding commitment.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | ![]() When Darcy found us 2 years ago, the vet estimated she was between 10-12. That would make her between 12-14 now. Most of the time, its hard to tell her apart from Baxter and Cooper, she is active, if not a little slower than them ![]() |

| ![]() My mom had a yorkie named Mischa that was 17 years old...but sadly he passed away. I guess his little body just pooped out. His mind was as sharp as a tack until the end tho! Strange thing is that he came from a puppy mill, had all kinds of medical problems throughout his long, long life. Once he ate my uncle's blood pressure medicine and had to have his tummy pumped and was in a coma for a day and a half! He ate canned Alpo his whole life and he had all but two of his teeth left! Unbelievably he survived against all the odds! He's been gone 11 years and we still miss him everyday! He was a HOOT! ![]()

We lost our little girl, Ashley, in June, one month before she would have been seventeen. We did a lot of preventative care with her and kept her physically and mentally active. She went for daily walks, which kept her heart and lungs strong. I carried her a lot as she got older because I was afraid that it would be too much for her, but I gradually increased the amount she was walking on her own. She was walking at least a mile a time on her own, usually a couple of times a day, up until a few days before she died. When it was too hot out or she seemed tired, I carried her. I took her at least once a week shopping, to a park, or somewhere else so that she had something that was exciting for her other than her walks. She absolutely loved people, especially children and even little babies. I really think the human interactions and mental stimulations helped her. She did have CCD, a doggy Alzheimer's, the last year of her life, but she was still very responsive with my husband and me. Her heart was enlarged, so we had to be careful with anesthesia, but she had regular dentals done, usually once or twice a year, prior to the age of ten. After that, we did dentals two other times due to infections. I strongly believe dentals help to keep them healthy and I think keeping Ashley active helped to keep her happy and mostly healthy. She always had some kibble each day, but I cooked for her also. | |
