| Cute little story to share Recently two of my daughters and a granddaughter were visiting and I was riding back with them from FL to NC to my daughter's home. I have two yorkies who were with us. We stopped at a Burger King for a comfort break for all of us including the dogs. After walking the boys we put them inside the car with the a/c running while we sat outside to eat. One daughter and granddaughter went in first while my youngest daughter and I stayed outside to keep an eye on the boys. Once they returned we went in to get our food. Walking out I could see my daughter's face completely red and she appeared to be ranting and raving! She couldn't figure out how the car doors had gotten locked and her purse and of course the keys were inside. Thankfully I had my purse and cell phone and while one daughter was trying to find a locksmith we figured out exactly how the doors had gotten locked. Hank was walking back and forth in the front seats and had stepped on the electronic door lock switch. We tried our best to get him to run back and forth hoping he would step on the button again but to no avail it didn't work that time. My daughter was still on the phone when my other daughter suddenly noticed the back window was now down about 4 or 5 inches; just enough for her to get her arm in to unlock the doors. Apparently Hank had walked across the seats and had now stepped on the switch that handled the windows! What a break for us. It was hot outside and we were nearly in the middle of nowhere. Thanks to Hank we were able to get into the car and he probably saved us hours of waiting and an $85 locksmith fee. My little granddaughter summed it up. She said Hanky is our hero. He saved our lives and well, he did. For that he got some chicken nuggets and quite a few pats on the head!! |
