| Will she ever look like a yorkie? Hi eveyone. I am new here so first of all hello to everyone and secondly I really hope someone can clear this up for me. My little baby is 14 weeeks old. She has had very thin hair since I got her and she had always looked bald on the top of her head because she had so much white her up there . Her coat is getting thicker but it is still a bit on the coarse side. Her parents are gorgeous. I just don't know if this something some babies go through? And the white hair on her head comes out very easily when put in a bow . She is not left with a bald spot but new very short tan and black hair under there. I am sooooo confused. Sorry for how long this is. |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | First of all, welcome to YT. Could it be a vitamin deficiency? Something else...2 heavy coated parents can produce a pup with thin hair. Have you talked to a vet about this? What kind of food is your pup on? Omega 3 Fatty Acid is good for the skin and coat...also Missing Link. Would love to see pictures of your little one!

| Our babies go through many hair color changes. Chloe is very silver on top of her head now, and her hair was very thin. Now, its getting a lot thicker and under the dark hair on her back is a little silver coming through. Don't worry, I am sure your baby looks like a Yorkie!!!!!! Would love to see pictures. | Shes just going through her funky hair satge right now. The new colors are coming in and the old colors are moving out, so everything looks messy. Bia looks just llike you describe and I just keep telling myself she WILL look geourgeous one day soon. Shes my first yorkie so Im new to the whole color changing thing and I think its so incredible how the whole thing happens.

| This is all very normal. The sticky at the top of this "General Discussion Board" has more info than you'll ever need about it! It's called: Sticky: Yorkie Coats, Colors, and Puppy Growth Chart Thread |

| Hi Phoebe's Mom.. First off, Welcome to the board, 2nd.. Congratulations on your Furbaby she is Sweet and Adorable. The picture is rather small and she's wearing a t shirt , so I'm not getting a very clear picture of her coat. Perhaps she is a Red Leg Yorkie, I have heard this term used many times over the past few years. A red leg yorkie generally has a shorter coarser coat that just dosn't grow very long at all.Perhaps some of the longtime breeders can chime in here. I have heard that some breeders who aquire one of these little red legs in a litter , will hold them back and introduce them into the breeding program to help throw a deeper shade of Gold into their breeding program. I'll pick a few friends brains to try and refresh what information I have heard regarding this Type of Coat. Best Wishes
