GASP! i have been on this sight for a little while now, but i am fairly new. i've always seen the term "biewer" but never cared to investigate it until now! i have QUESTIONS!

are they the same size as regular yorkies?

are they something almost like an "albino" person but just in a dog?

and THIRD: i now WANT one oh so badly ! ! !

To answer your questions simply, no, no, and cool!

They are bigger than regular yorkies and they are nothing at all like an albino. there are albinos in every species on earth which is a lack in skin pigmentation. a biewer is made to be a white or white and chocolate colored dog it is NOT albino. albinos are all white including skin and usually nails and have red eyes. biewers are simply a "parti or tri colored" yorkie that is bred way out of the standard and called another name.

hope that helps and good luck in finding what you are looking for, even though they are not recognized by the AKC as a dog breed, i agree they are very cute and hard not to want :p

soo they ARE bigger then regular yorkies? thats interesting. and there ARE albino yorkies? i'm gonna google so i can see! and what exactly do you mean ?made up to be" ??? ? ?

They are beautiful dogs , just be careful in choosing a puppy if you decide to do so. There is alot to learn before one jumps right in and buys one.

lol, guys... i DO want one, but i just got my Hazel 2 weeks ago so my hands are wayyyy more then full at the moment! but in the future, maybe! they are gorgeous dogs!

The links Breezeway posted are a great place to start to learn good info on this lovely little breed ;)
But I just wanted to make clear that the above statement is not true :) biewers (bred by responsible breeders) are bred to a standard, and just like Yorkies, some are bigger, some are smaller than standard :) A Biewer standard does not call for Chocolate coloring, but Blue/black, white and gold/tan. With white being the only part of the standard coloring that is different from traditional Yorkies :)

i appologize. i didn't realize there was a standard for this dog. sorry. but as i am aware they are not recognized by the AKC so in my personal opinion a breed standard doesn't matter if you are looking to the AKC for a breed recognition. they do not accept this as a dog breed and it's standard isn't an AKC standard.

No need to apologize for not knowing the correct info :)
Just to clarify, I never stated they were recognized by AKC. But they are recognized and shown by the NAKC (North American Kennel Club) and the IABCA (International All Breed Canine Association), along with many other breeds :)
The AKC is not the only legitimate Kennel Club in America :)
The Biewer is a Breed and does have a standard and is shown as such ;)

AKC does not set any breed's standard. That is set by either the parent breed club or in some cases...the country of origin of the particular breed.

Biewer Terrier, Biewer Yorkie Information and Pictures, Biewer Yorkies

They are fairly new that's why they aren't AKC recognized but they sure are recognized by other kennel clubs so yes they DO have a standard.
