| I dont understand why the OP has not saved up in 7years to get her dog fixed, if she couldnt afford it then why get another yorkie a year ago? So saying money wont allow you to get them fixed dont really ring true

She posted in March that she took her female in to be spayed, but the vet called her to pick the dog up because it didn't weigh enough. She posted again in June that she had an appointment for the spaying (so one must assume that the weight was OK then). Now we are at the end of August.

| I'm just annoyed that she's too busy worrying about WHY her dogs are acting oddly and not WHAT she can do to fix it.

| Wow - I read through this entire post and was amazed at the gossipping. I mean really?!? I am interested in understanding, reading and learning from everyone's posts. When a question is posted, it is ridiculous to "OMG she didn't - oh no she did" thing. Just answer the question as best you know how - and if you don't - then don't answer. Why do this negative thing - does it suit a purpose? Gemy - thank you so much for all of your insight. It has truly been interesting and educational. I wish there were more posters like you on this site! |

I totally agree with this. Getting your dog fixed and spayed is the MOST important thing about being a responsible pet owner (my opinion) If you cant afford it then save up. I dont understand not being able to afford it but then not saving up in the 7 years you have had the yorkie. Then adding another yorkie and also not having enough to pay for the spay. Just thought that was a little strange.

| Thank you Gemy for your response that makes sence . I appreciate your feedback , this has been a great resource before for me and I appreciate your taking time to comment. *** Okay here goes my story , I got Dallas almost 7 years ago , I had researched this breed for many months and one thing I read was how small breeds have bad reactions to anesthesia and that scared me , then we moved into our home and one night after a walk I met a neighbor who approached me about how sweet and cute he is and went on to tell me how his little male went in to be fixed and died under anesthesia so this terrified me. I talked to my vet who at the time was a little old country Vet and he said it can be true and that he would run tests to find out if Dallas could take the surgery well turns out he can't , He has a heart condition so sadly he wont be able to handle going under ...and to make it worse he has a desended testicle so his chances of cancer are even higher ...this is the reason he hasn't been fixed. The this past Christmas my Husband had got in touch with our breeder ( I had no idea ) and asked about adopting another baby sooo Christmas morning she was me and the children's sweet surprise ..hence this is where Philly came into play . I am going to have her fixed but we ran into some financial hardships , job loss and family death and we had to help out ...but she should be fixed soon ... I want her fixed for many many reasons but again loss of job and income can throw you a monkey wrench ...I will not take her to a spca to be fixed b/c if anything went wrong I would never forgive myself ..I know it's only a few more months and I will be able to take care of her spay w/ our Vet who I feel comfortable with , she is also having the laser procedure done so I am paying more to ensure it's not as evasive for her... We did switch Vet's when we moved again and I have had Dallas checked again and he agreed that it wouldn't be safe for him ... I know thats a lot of information but now everyone understands where I am coming from ....I am not a careless dog owner ..and while SPCA is a great option I would never take my kids to a free clinic and I can't do it for my dogs .... I must say that this post has had more attention then any other post and it just goes to show that people always are going to be wrapped up in drama ...why else would there be so many hits...b/c it's fun to see people getting mad and being nasty...I am done w/ being rude back or defensive and I guess I will do just as the people who PM'd me and thats not post in the future anything do to w/ this again ...I dont even get on here often ..I know some of you have a lot more time and are on here more but I dont have that luxury . I again want to thank everyone that tried to help me and thank you for your support through Pm's ,in the future though you should post it on here so evryone can see , you are entitled to your opinion thats the reason we are all here to help and share with your knowledge and experience you might have had . Thanks YT !!

| Well thats fair enough. I am sorry about your little boy its a shame he cant get fixed. I understand it is a very scary time when they go under the knife and it is always a risk. As for your little girl when you get her fixed maybe he will stop humping her, or maybe she is just to georgous !! I must admit i thought u got both your yorkies at 12 weeks old and have never bothered to get them done, even when unemployed putting a little away a month soon mounts up and maybe you could get it done sooner rather than later. Sorry for the confusion and mix up on my part. As for not coming on here much... i think i am adicted to this place haha!
