Donating YT 500 Club Member | Dry Flaky Skin, Does anyone supplement with Salmon Oil? I am thinking of trying adding Salmon Oil to Taycie's food. I have noticed her skin is starting to get dry and flaky and I have heard that helps alot. Does anyone else do this as well? Is it safe for a puppy? Any thoughts? |

| I haven't used salmon oil, but I have used coconut oil, both as a dietary supplement and as a skin treatment. I give him about 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil once a day, and I use a little dab of it as a leave in conditioner after his bath. I just rub it into his skin as I'm combing him out. It really helped and smells a lot better than fish oil! |

| We were having dry itchy skin problems also. Vet gave us something called Omega Tri-V caps which are fish oil. Within a week my dog's skin problems seemed to go away. I just heard about organic coconut chips and oil. I happend to get a sample of the coconut chips which I tried. Her breath smelled so good and she really liked it. I am going to try this for a while It's called Cocotherapy.
