| How awesome! Max is going to have a little buddy! I have heard here that boys do well with boy/girl or boy/boy combo. If you're really worried, you can try to get an older dog (almost a year old) to see if their personalities will do well together. Congrats and good luck.

| Hi, if Max is 2 and has been socialized with lots of people and other dogs as a puppy, he will likely do well with a new addition. When I say socialized, I mean after you got him - Did he go to puppy class, the dog park, etc where he was able to be around other dogs? Our dogs were 8 years old when we added Teddy to our family. They considered Teddy to be an unwelcome intruder with bad puppy manners and he was told off ALOT in the beginning. It took Daisy about a month or two to accept Teddy and she started to hang out with him. Barney took 6 months. His tolerance for Teddy grew each day and eventually he just accepted him. So, to answer your question, if your dog has been around other dogs as a pup, and 2 is still young, then he will likely do just fine with another pup. We have two boys and a girl. They are all best friends.
