| The Girl with the Iron Bladder! Lucy is almost 12 weeks old and 2.8 lbs. I've had her home for about 5 days. She has been trained to potty pads and now we are trying to switch her to go outside. She sleeps in her crate right next to my bed and is amazingly already sleeping all night! This morning I woke up at 5 so she woke up and I took her out. I waited. And waited. And waited. She wouldn't go. I went in and got a puppy pad, laid it on the patio, and she pottied on it right away! I have no problem with that, we'll get her off the pads eventually. I was just so surprised that she would hold it all night (her bedding was dry and smells clean) and then hold it outside until she got the pad. Is she super iron bladder or what? I'm thinking this will help to train her...I hope! Anyone else had a puppy surprise you like this??

| My 11 week old goes in his crate around 11pm when we go to sleep. I then hear whining around 2am and take him into the kitchen to do his business. He then goes again at 6am. He's almost 5 pounds, so maybe there's a bit more inside him! I don't do the potty pad training. I bell train to go potty outside.

| Your 11 week old sounds like my teapot Spicy. He is 3 and now weighs in at 11 lbs. He is bell trained and we'll bell train Lucy as well. It's just that when the breeders train on the potty pads...thats where we start. THe only problem I have noticed is that the breeders typically have tile floors (understandably) so the pups learn to potty on the pad. But when you bring them into a home with carpet, they think it is one big potty pad!

| Bella too has a bladder of steel. She started holding herself all night long at about 8.5 weeks. This being from 12-6 or 7. She is now almost 21 weeks old and can hold it from 10pm to 8 or 9 am. Maybe I've been blessed. LOL |
