| Skunked!!!!! My boys got skunked last night... 10pm! I let them out to pee and they bee lined to this bag outside and I realized in a split second that it was not the bag they wanted it was the skunk (in the fenced in yard) they were after. I screamed and screamed to NO avail for them to come back but they cornered it and it let loose. Right in their faces no less! I found that a mixture of peroxide, baking soda and dish soap works the best ... so I of course was out of peroxide!!! Where I live very little is open past 10pm. Stop & Shop the food store was open though so I went there, they were out of peroxide!!!! ggrrrr I had to go to the next city over to their Stop and Shop and thankfully they had some. Bathing the boys in that does work, but they woke up this morning still smelling faintly like skunk and my whole house REEKS!!! I have to wash their little faces again today with this mixture. Never a dull moment in my life! I had this week off for vaca, so far my BF needed 12 stitches in his finger that he cut with the power hedge clippers, 3.5 hour ER trip, then I got a 24 hour virus that took me down HARD and now the skunking! I'm ready to go back to work I tell ya!!!! LOL

| Oh my goodness! You've had a hectic week for a vacation! I'm sorry about the skunking. Thank GOODNESS I've never had to deal with it but my friend across the way did. Ugh, that was awful stuff.

| I think it was at Petco or Walmart that I saw some kind of shampoo or something to remove the smell of skunk. I don't remember the name of it or anything. You might check there. I always heard tomato juice when I was growing up. Not sure if that works either. Good luck. I know that is not a pleasant smell.

| They say the smell can last for 2 years! I have to wash their faces again. I think petco may have Natures miracle skunk smell remover spray. I might need to get some for the house. We knew the skunk sprayed but were not sure if he got the dogs until they got inside the sunroom and started rubbing their heads on the floor and sneezing a lot. So now the sunroom is probably covered in skunk oil that will stink for a year! Oh fun times!

| Oh no. Watch their eyes very carefully. This can cause irritation/inflammation, so they may need eye drops from the vet.

| Your poor boys! If none of the pet store products work, try Coat Handler's odor eliminator: Coat Handler Odor Handler 1lb-Senproco, Inc. I believe you can use this product or one of their others to clean your house as well. |

| Aww... I'm sorry! My sister's big dogs got skunked earlier this year and she originally thought only her female got it, so she let her male in the house. After several hours, she realized her house stunk and that her other dog had been skunked as well and now all the fabrics were completely covered in the smell as well... She had to wash everything and it stunk in her house forever! I guess you eventually get used to it
