Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | ![]() I have an older cross breed dog called Jess, she is about 13 years old and we have had her for 10 years. My yorkie pup has been with us for 6 weeks now and at first Jess wasnt happy about it AT ALL. Jess wouldnt even sit in the same room as the pup at first and was in the huff with us all ![]() Slowly things started to get better and she would start to sit in the same room as her, then she would let the pup sit closer to her and so on. But as soon as Poppy got too close Jess would either bark or walk away form her (or both). Now Poppy is a little bigger she is starting to run around and play more. Jess now tolerates her playing in the room that she is in and being in the garden when she is there. Last night Poppy was running around the living room playing and Jess was barking at her A LOT.. I mean right in her face, but Poppy wasnt scared as she kept wagging her tail and coming back to her. When Jess barks at her her tail is wagging and she sort of gets down on the floor with her butt in the air like shes playing. She has never actually gone for the pup, she will just bark in her face. Do you think this is progress? Is Jess just showing Poppy whos boss? They are never left alone together btw. Thanks ![]() ![]() EDIT: all the time Jess is barking her tail is wagging
