| Munchkin traps Alvin - Funny Story This morning I had my back door open so Munchkin and my 2 cats, Peter and Nibbles can go in and out freely. I'm fixing coffee in the kitchen. All of a sudden I see Peter slink in with a creature in his mouth that's bigger than a mouse. I screamed - spilled my coffee on the countertop - to my son -"Kevin, help - come quick! Peter has a creature in his mouth - maybe a rat!!!!!." By now Munchkin and Nibbles are on alert and the noise startles Peter into dropping the creature. It runs and both cats and my prescious yorkie - can't believe she did this - are chasing it back and forth across the living room and dining room floor. Kevin comes out of his room - in boxers. The creature runs over my foot and I screamed again! I'm a city girl, you see! (Hee Hee) Finally Peter caught the creature again and starts to take it into the back of the house. Kevin tries to grab Peter and in doing so, Peter lets it go and it runs into Kevin's bedroom. I grabbed up Munch and he closed the door. Kevin's buddy comes to pick him up for work - he's got his coat and cap on - and armed with a yardstick, a plastic bag, my cane, a large bowl and a plate - such trapping items as were available - the guys lock themselves in Kevin's room. I hear noise and scuffling but no trapping occuring. "Kevin - do you want the cats in there? Maybe Peter will catch it again!" I ask. "Yes, get them and I'll let them in" he says. The cats are in the room now with the guys and I hear scuffling and tapping, but no trapping. In the meantime Munchkin was in my room having a fit to get out. I let her out and she is sniffing like a hound dog the path through the living and dining room that they had been chasing the creature earlier. Back and forth and back and forth. "Kevin, do you want Munchkin? She's got his scent - she's going crazy out here!" Answer - "Yes, let her in." Now I hear scuffling and tapping and barking, complaints that the cat is laying around now not trying to catch the creature, more barking and then a loud "Got Him". After a little more scuffling, the door was opened and out came the trappers - Stuart still in his coat and cap, Kevin in his boxers, 2 cats and 1 yorkie and in Stu's had was a bag with a creature - turned out to be a chipmunk - desperatly fighting to get out. Stuart released him into the wood and the emergency was over. Turns out Munchkin trapped and barked at the chipmunk and when it ran it ran right into Stu's trap - a very strong plastic bag. Munchie saves the day!!! I know this is long, but you had to get the flavor as well as the story. Seems hilarious now, but it wasn't so funny when it ran over my foot!!!!!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | hahahaha - BRENDA... a city girl is susposed to scream when they see creatures running over their body parts - I'm sure it was a very scary chipmonk What a funny story - you all are lucky you found it and Saved him from doom...AND to set it free - those little guys can hide in some pretty small places. I bet all your little guys were going crazy - My girls can smell intrudas in the yard from a long way so I bet the monk's scent is still in your house - did they keep looking for hours ? |

| Yes - they were locked up from 7:30 until 9:15 am! I nearly didn't get to get in the shower to get to work on time! I hope Munchkin doesn't smell where he's been when I get home.

| LOL...What a fun story! Reading it, I almost felt as I was there in the middle of all the excitement! Glad it all ended well! I think chipmunks are cute! We don't have any of them around here, but plenty of squirrels! |
