| How much is too much!? Hello YT! So I just wanted to put this out there. About two weeks agao, I went to a dog spa in Manhattan NYC and boy was I surprised at what I heard/saw. The owners were selling yorkie studs at $2800.00 a piece and selling bitches for $1600.00. When I asked about the price disparity, I was told that the bitches were "Older" meaning they were 5 months old vs. the studs who were allegedly going on to be 10 weeks old and for sale . I was outraged considering that these dogs did not appear to be from a reputable breeder and the response from the owner was not at all what I expected from a high end dog spa-For the record, my Hugo will never go in there! I just wanted to put that out there-high end doggie boutqiues and spas also help puppy mills! I knew that they were pupply mill dogs because the owner said that they were garunteed from a reputable AKC breeder but did not even know exactly where they came from and became defensive when I asked for the breeder information. |

| WOW!!! I really should say that I'm not surprised money hungry people will do anything for a $$$$$$. A pup can't even be evaluated at 10 weeks old as a stud. How do they even know those puppies have anything to offer the Yorkshire Terrier breed?

| Oh no! Any price is too much for puppy mill dogs. Its a shame that a high-end spa isn't doing anything to fight against puppy mills. Imagine what an impact they could make if they educated their customers instead of trying to make more money.

| When it comes to breeding stock, the older pup is more expensive and the younger cheaper...at 10 wks you have very little to go on..at 5 mos you have a good idea if the pup will develop into breed quality... Just because a male has testicules, it does not make it a stud potential.. |

| I have a feeling the OP used the words stud and bitches meaning just male and female isn't it? Wrong situation either way but i do not understand she is talking "stud" as any potential to breed or not. It sounds more like The OP is just referring as male and female ! XOXO

| People make me sick. Really. I just can't believe that's allowed. I wish there was something more that you could do than just not take Hugo there!

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | JMO- but I think the price disparity has to do with age and not breeding/showing potential. The older females are "clearance puppies" to make room for the newer litters.
