Actually there is a thread running in general discussion now about a few members who rescued lots of poor dogs from the horror of a puppy mill.
They went in and took them, cleaned them up and have found them loving homes with families who care about them.
I understand you feel lectured, but these people know what they are talking about and I really wish you would listen for the dogs sake.

Hopefully, if she didn't like what was being said to her in this thread she will stick around and read the thread you are talking about to learn. Maybe she will take a look at the link in my signature and see how a lot of people helped to support rescue by donating and then read some of the stories. There was another puppymill bust yesterday in OK and OHYR is taking 20 puppymill dogs. The members of YT are very informed and they help in many different ways including education, donation, and volunteering to make a difference. That is where the passion comes from. I'm hoping she or even someone else comes along to see what has been said and takes something from this as a learning tool when looking for a new puppy. :)

Here's where I think the crux of the matter lies...our OP is blinded by the "L" word...which may be a typical emotion for a young person...but, I'm willing to bet she's needing something more than a puppy to love and is using this to fill an empty void in her life.

All the advise in the world provided respectfully I might add to this young person will not budge her from her mission. She wanted to express her delight in looking for her very own puppy and expected YT members to embrace her with ooohs & aaahs but, that's not how we roll here.:rolleyes:

There are no other sites but, YT who will take care of you like this...with the hard honest truth and be there to still love you when you don't listen and still offer advise & help!;)

Love this....reminds me of a good parent...or a *real*, true friend. :)

I am very shocked at some of the replys on here! I am new to Yorkie talk and i feel very dissapointed reading some of these replys.

This lady was asking for advice not to be shot down like she has been. I understand you all all tring to give her advice but i think some people are being very rude with replys! She has been nothing but nice in every reply.. alot nicer than what i would have been to some of them... i am mad just reading them!!

Very sad that some of the regs on here feel the need to reply like that to someone asking for a little advice. Some of the posts are very helpful in this thread tho.

I agree i think some breeders do charge over the asking price just because they are yorkies. But she was asking if there was any breeder in her area for a fair price... why shouldnt she ask this???? This does not mean she does not know about puppymills etc, and i think her doggy with or without papers has NOTHING to do with it, or with any of you for that matter!

Sorry you have been shot down so badly yorkienc, i do hope you still come back to this site.

Good luck on finding your perfect little yorkie and use some of the helpful advice in SOME of the posts. As for the other posts alot of you people should be ashamed of yourself!!

ok why is it still going on please stop..how do you make someone mad because you simply made a statement and because you have your own opinion please....i see we have a psychologist i am very satisfied with my life miabellaamoure because i want a dog to love and care for something has to be wrong??? NO,i just simply want a puppy ive always wanted one but whatever...this is not the only place that offers advice but its your opinion.....i am very determined to find what im looking for and eventually i will find the perfect puppy for me..i will make sure i come back to post pics not that you all care but to show you it can be done..and once again thnxx for the advice:)

thanks furbutt i thought @ first i was trippin when i seen some of the responses then when i went off on the deep end thats when i was wrong but i was really just simply stating something then i was tryna use max-yorkiepoo as an example as far as prices go then thats when they went on a puppymill rage...dont let it discourage you from being on the site its always going to be bad seeds @ first i was going to completely gt off the site but im not because like everyone else i have a rite to be on here and have the right to state my opinion....there really are some nice people on here

I just bought my little girl (i think i mentioned her on the first page on this thread) I cant wait to get her home in 3weeks! It took me ages to find the right breeder but i am sure u will find one to your liking soon enough hehe! And when you do the fun will start with the toilet training etc haha... i cant wait!! LOL :D xxx

i cant wait myself im excited...im talking to a lady now about a pup shes 750 with papers(which i dnt care about)..she registered with ckc but her parents are akc....ill be going down there today to talk to her personally and to see the dog:) all smiles

Oh wow how exciting!! You will have to let me know how it all goes. When i was looking for Poppy (what i have named my little girl yorkie) i asked so many questions to the breeder about vet checks and insurance and all about the mum and dad i was worried they where sick of me. When i went to see her the breeders house was so nice and clean and the pups where in a little whicker basket they looked so cute i wanted to take her home right there and then haha!

So are you after a little girl yorkie or a little boy yorkie? I had my heart set on a little girl as i wanted to put bows in her hair and get the little dresses from some of the amazing people on heres online store. So for me it had to be a little girl, altho i could have put a bow in a boys hair haha. xxx

yea i really want a little girl bcuz i really want the bows,outfits,and shoes 2 lol i couldnt do that wit Max he would have a fit he hates when he gts back from the groomer n he has a bow on or a bandana he'll roll or scratch his head until its gone or pout...the puppy im lookin @ nw she is only 12 oz and isnt expected to gt really big...

There are VERY rude posts towards her which i didnt think was fair! If you think that all the replys where ok... then shame on you! Maybe she did get alittle upset with some of the replys... which i would have done too at what some posts where saying to her. Anyway I am done with the rude nasty comments on this post i dont come here for arguments. I think everyone should just let it go now!

Not particularly. I just thought it was reasonable that since you expended so much time on castigating all of us for coming down so hard on her. And accused all of us as a body of being so rude, and made the statement that she had not once been rude in her replies that it needed to be pointed out that indeed that statement was absolutely not true. She was more than rude, she was profane and vile.

Glad to see that things have calmed down. Just wanted you realize that it is good to remember that sometimes the fingerpointing goes both ways.

lol i hope she gets bigger dats a scary small i remember when i got Max he was so i got him a bell 2 wear lol...but he certainly has gotten fatter over the yrs lol....i knw ur excited im excited for u i wanna c pics when u gt her

I don't believe a single person here said it couldn't be done, I believe you were given reasons and examples why it shouldn't be done. I got my first girl from a very nice lady for $800. Turns out she is a USDA breeder and I now have a dog with a very, very expensive illness.
Good luck to you, glad you know more than people who have dedicated their lives to this breed. Sure hope everything turns out great.
