| Updates on my little rescue Bentley... Just wanted to update everyone on how my little Bentley is doing. What with Sadie's illness recently I haven't had a chance to post how good he is. He's the love of our lives right now. We are so happy to have him and so glad he's found us to love him. His demodex has cleared up a lot and he's getting much better. The yeast smell is going away and the rashs are all gone and back to white skin. The vet says she saw mostly dead demodex, but a few live ones were still present in the skin scrape. We have one more round of promeris in two weeks and a skin scrape in four weeks. I'll let you know how that goes. We're pretty sure Bentley was a puppy mill pup or severly abondoned. He had a rash on his neck when we got him that to me looked a lot more like a rope burn than demodex rashes. He is a crate eliminator and has had a couple nights of defecating in his crate. We gave in and he now sleeps in our bed with us and Sadie. He feels better in there and sleeps through the night without having a need to go out and use the bathroom. I'm just sure he was left in a crate all of his early life and he is just used to peeing/pooing in there. SAD Anyways, he's a blessing. Learns very fast and always wants to be close. He has a few moments where he'll show a tiny bit of aggression towards like a new male that enters the home (he's bitten at my BIL once or twice on his pant legs) and he'll growl at weird stuff like a fan or something. but all in all he's a very mellow and loving dog. i wouldn't have found a better match for Sadie if i'd made him up myself!! he's only one day older than her and he's so sweet and cute. i call him little bear because when he runs he looks like a little bear. anyways, rescuing him has been so rewarding and it's made my heart soar to watch him grow and change so fast. thanks for the support and i love you guys. |
