| puppy clothes How do you get your yorkies to wear clothes and bows in their hair? Chloe fights when I put a bow in her hair until I get it in there and then she scratches at her head or shakes her head as hard as she can until it comes out. When I get her coat out she runs and hides. Thats why I wanted a little girl so bad so that I could put them in the cute little dresses and bows and she wont let me put them on her. How can I get her to like to be dressed up? |

| I think they all do that at first. Start very slow. WIth just a band in her hair until she leaves it alone and a simple clothing harness, work up from there. I think the easiest way to get them to like clothes is with a harness, they associate it with something good (going for a walk or somewhere). Mine all get totally excited when I pull out a harness. |

| I've never had a problem with them wanting to wear clothes, bows. The only problem I have is mellie likes to drag mac around by his clothes or try to undress him .

| Unfortunately some yorkies take to bows and clothes right away and some take time. As long as I know her bow/barrette is not too tight or uncomfortable and I take it out each night, I kept at it. Mine is 10 months and has finally stopped pulling out her bows. I guess she realized I am just going to put it right back in.

| I think Jodi is right. Try just a band, not to tight. After a few times whitout her pulling on it you can add a bow. It takes some time, but she will get used to them. The harness dresses are great, thats a good way to make them dress up. Princess loves to put dresses on. Poncho on the other hand, isn't too crazy about his sweaters, but he will wear them. Good Luck!

| Laila hates the bows. Catch her when she it tired! That is how I do it. Also, I change her bow every 3 days (or it will begin to get matted). I take the bow off at night and comb it - then let her chill w/out any bow until the next evening. Her hair grows straight forward, so she can barely see with it down. When she is sleepy but up, and sitting on her favorite chair, I come up and quickly grab the hair and tie the bow in there before she realizes what just happened, haha. This has worked for me. On the clothes. Sometimes Laila will be feisty when the clothes come out, other times she is just fine. Lately, if she is bad - I take her tink outside w/ no jacket (only a minute or two, nothing too cruel). Then she comes inside and is still shivering in her chair (mind you it is still in the 60's , lol) - so I whip out her sweatshirt and she will gladly let me put it on! haha - they are so tempermental. Good Luck. Be very very patient! And don't pull too hard or you will discourage her more.

| It was so cold outside when I got Syd last year that I put a shirt on her at the breeder's house before we left. So she is pretty used to clothing. At the beginning of fall when I broke out the clothing again after a few glorious months of being naked...Syd fussed a little bit...but not too bad. Hair bow...however that is another issue all together. Syd HATED them at first. I agree that you should start with a simple rubber band and get her to keep that in. Just be dilligent and put it back in every time she gets it out. It took us a couple of months to be %100 ok with a top-knot. |

| This is just random and funny. Syd has a new cableknit turtleneck sweater that I got her a couple of weeks ago. Well it was very cold in my apartment this past week so I put it on her. When I got home from work on Friday afternoon she had managed to take the sweater off (don't ask me how she did that), and chewed it mostly to bits. She has never done anything like that before. Apparently she didn't like that sweater. |

| Harley's really good about wearing clothes and usually is pretty easy to get dressed but he ALWAYS gets his hair ties and bows out! I just can't figure out how to keep them in. He always shakes his head extremely fast until it comes out!
