Anyways just had to stop and congratulate kobe's mom for rescuing this little guy from those young ones, God only knows what would have happened if they were told about the price reduction. So God bless to Kobe's mom may you guys have a life full of health and happiness. I have to agree with Hot Rod's Mom Chance would be a wonderful name for this little guy, or lucky for he is very Lucky for having a mom like you xo |

However, I think this was a little harsh, esp. considering you went against what everyone told you here on YT yourself and got your dog from a BYB anyways. So I really think you should understand of all people when you fall in love with a puppy that you probably should NOT be getting (because by purchasing from a BYB, you are also putting $$$ in their pockets and allowing them to breed more dogs). Sooo... I don't know, that comment just seemed a little hypocritcal because if I remember correctly, you were pretty pissed off at alot of people for telling you the truth about where your pup was coming from.:thumbup: I remember I hope the best for you and the new baby. But yes we should not get from a pet store or a BYB. |

I understand both sides. Even though I agree that it's not good to put money in the puppy store - more then likely this pet store paid more then what they were able to sell the puppy for so did lose from this puppy. That is good - I hope it happens more often - maybe more of them would go out of business. But I am so glad that you have this puppy and not someone who will buy the puppy because it is cheap and not care for the puppy. The puppy is very lucky. I hope you have a long and happy time with this new little one. |

Congrats on your new baby!!!! Enjoy your lil guy, they grow so fast!!! |

I would of done the same thing and rescued the poor baby. God bless you saving this baby:thumbup: |

Rock and a hard place...I would have done the same thing, it's bad but it is hard to keep those puppy eyes from pulling your heart strings. I hope he is healthy and I know he'll have a wonderful life with you. Good luck, and post pics! |

I just sat here and cried when I read that Petland and/or other stores, if puppies don't sell once on clearance, they are euthanized. This is so upsetting to read this. I know our new Petland store that opened mid April has a couple of puppies that have not sold yet and now marked down considerably. I am praying these puppies will sell so that they will not be euthanized. This is so sad to read this. I would rather see these puppies rescued than be euthanized. |

What's done is done.............and it can't be undone. Love that puppy every day. There's no room for guilt in a heart filled with Yorkie love. My question is...........what DO they do with the pups who grow too large and don't sell? Do they send them off to some Humane Society nearby that's already straining to survive and let them take their chances there? |

Ericka- Can't wait to see more pics of your two well loved boys together! |

Ericka~ you have your new baby and I wish you all the best and him the best of health. You did what you felt you needed to do. I am just a bit confused by this thread. I see so many posts where people speak of how wrong it is to support puppymills and pet stores. I even see it in signature lines and such. However, this thread appears to be saying it is okay to buy from a pet store to "save" a puppy. I agree, you are saving that pup, but what about the next one? I am sure there are hundreds of pups bought from pet stores each year that go to terrible, abusive homes, go without being spayed/neutered and bred. Should we suggest people save those pups too? I am not attacking anyone just looking for some clarification. I read Rachel speak up against this,(which I have read in many other threads by many other members) and she was accused of being mean and rude. ???? Yes, she bought from a byber, now knows better is trying to share her knowldege. I have walked through a pet store and Maddie came from a byber. Now, I know better and want better for ALL pup out there. It is hard to pass up pups in the window of the pet stores I see, but I think of the larger picture and the only way to stop puppymills is not by from them. Is that not what I have read on here over and over and over? Ericka, you appear to be a wonderful mommy to your boys so please don't feel this is an attack on you. |

I always feel for the parents too, but when I read about people getting dogs from petstores or over the internet, without meeting the breeder or seeing where their puppies come from, I can't help but feel puppymills will never end, and the cruelty of the business will continue indefinitely. I wonder if those young people who wanted a dog to breed won't buy the next one that goes on sale or find one somewhere else?:( |
