I'd rather spend $12 on a tube of paste and $3 on a brush than $600 for a vet to clean his teeth. My vet gave me a pat on the back when I bought the toothpaste.
Now the bathing thing, I bathe Teegy every three months. I do groom him every couple of days and rinse him off with water if he's been rolling around in the dirt at the park. I see a lot of you bathing your dogs weekly, would this not strip the natural oils from the hair?

Wow that's expensive! I spent $80 on a non-anesthetic teeth cleaning. That's including the extra gas I spent going 40 miles to Kaji's old vet.

how does that work? are they able to clean the teeth very well this way?

some yorkies' coat gets oily, so it's ok to bath once a week. my milu has dry skin, so i try to wait longer than a week before bathing her. i give her ark natural oil to help with her dry skin.

Amazon.com: Ark Naturals Royal Coat Efa Express:... but even with dry skin, if you use the right shampoos and conditioners, it seems to be ok to bath them weekly.

Kaji's teeth had a lot of visible tarter. He came back and had super pearly whites. I didn't get to see, but it was really quick. At least it felt that way because they took him to the back, and started working on him while I filled out the paper work. I thought it would be an eternity and I'd hear Kaji scream or whine. None of that happened. I got a happy wiggly puppy back.

That's pretty neat, I'd never heard of this before.

I kept hearing that putting them under a lot isn't good for them, but Kaji desperately needed to have his teeth cleaned. They gave me a full report of his teeth and gums. I was very pleased.

I find that every dog is different, but usually that's a sign of allergies. Bouncer is the same way, but all of my other yorkies don't have a single problem. Once I played around with foods and supplements we finally found a mix that would work for him. It just takes a lot of time and patience.

Mia is just getting her big girl teeth in. SO I should brush them daily? Mia is a BIG baby when it comes to monkeying with her mouth and her EARS. The groomer said she was too much of a handful to trim last time. I need guidance because she doesn't want a funny haircut.
