| New puppy doesn't like her food Hello everyone I just got a 9 week old yorkie puppy on friday and the breeder had her on Iams Smart puppy food..and she would rather eat our bigger dogs food than her own so I am guessing she doesn't like it much. Do any of you have an suggestions of any food that your yorkies liked as puppys? Thanks so much |

| Sorry you haven't gotten any responses. Have you tried to post this question in the health and diet section? My dog would rather eat ANYONE'S food but his own...even though he loves his kibble. I think it's a competition thing for him though Have you considered switching your puppy's food? What brand does your larger dog eat? Personally, I would not feed Iams to my dog, even thought your breeder recommended it. There are many healthier, high-quality foods that you can learn about in the health and diet section.

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | That is why I feed mine Natural Balance Orginal all life stage. My puppies would eat the adult food and the adults would eat all the puppy food. I don't know I guess they like what they can't have..lol

| Ziva eats Solid Gold "just a wee bit"(bison) in the pink bag. She loves it, she can gobble it when she's hungry, its not too big like a lot of others. it seems pretty high on some of the dog food quality lists and not crazy expensive. She loved the royal canin, didn't not like the Blue for puppies- spit out all the "life bits" We just bought a bag of Taste of the Wild (pacific stream) on recomendation from this forum and she seems to like it altho has to work at the larger pieces...I might use it as "treats". |

| I started my puppy's on chicken soup for the puppy lovers sole. and they loved it. the pieces are small enough for them to eat too..but now we feed Taste Of The Wild..either the pacific stream or the prairie formula. (buffalo and Venison) It is a little better quality than the chicken soup, but the pieces are a little big, and it is an all life stages food so any of your dogs can eat the same food. if the pieces are too hard or too large, just soak them in some warm water to soften it a bit..

| What brand of dog food does your big dog eat? Eating that may be better than not eating at all. Your little puppy needs to eat. Lucy is a picky eater too. Sometimes I would put her food on a paper plate and she would like that. Sometimes I would throw her kibbles on the floor one by one and make a game of it and she would eat. Sometimes, I just put her food in Ringo's bowl and she will eat out of his bowl what she will not eat out of her own. She loves it if I put a little cooked carrots and mix it up with her kibbles. We just tried different things. Her very favorite food as a puppy was (sigh) Purina Puppy Chow. She is off of that now but did not like the more expensive foods for some reason. Good Luck!
