| Silky breed? So I was looking at the pets section in the pennysaver a few minutes ago and one of the adds says: Yorkie Terrier- Silky breed Is it a yorkie mixed with a silky? It just kinda confused me because a yorkie is a yorkie right so what does the silky have to do with it?

| ALOT of people get the two confused. Alot of people also confuse the fact that Yorkies have a 'silky' coat so when that word gets thrown in, it can confuse people. Plus, I believe a Silky was created by breeding the Australian Terrier and Yorkie together. They also DO have Yorkie/Silky mixes (pet stores, etc) sooo... basically, people just don't know what they're talking about! lol.

| I have a very sweet Yorkie Mix. Her dad was a purebreed Yorkie and Mom was a purebreed Silkie. She is registered with a Designer Chapter of the APRI. I rescued her from a home that was getting rid of her after having her for 3 years. The lady had begun breeding Pitbulls and the 2 sizes were not a good mix. She looks very much like a Silver Yorkie but her face is a little wider. A picture of her is posted with my name.
