Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Im rescuing another....What now? OK. I pick up an unwanted dog at 9:30 this morning. The owner is a 21 year old girl (that I have known since she was born). She is an aspiring singer & just landed a record deal. Anyway, she is moving to LA on Sunday. She has a 5 year old Schnoodle that is neutered, housebroken & current on shots. I have been trying to find him a home for a week to no avail. My Aunt and Uncle in Tulsa are going back and forth & they may take him. Anyway, yesterday she emailed me and said, I guess I will take him to the pound on Saturday. I am not the kind of person who can hear such a thing and do nothing. So, I am picking him up and welcoming him to our family. I do want to find him another home asap. He is 15 lbs and sounds like a lover. My Uncle has alzheimers and dogs make him so happy. I am really hoping they will take him. I offered to drive him to Tulsa, so we will see. I dont know why I am posting except I just can't believe that someone could just say, I will take him to the pound. She has raised him since a puppy. A career would never be that important to me. Here is Miko! (he really looked like a Yorkie mix to me) |

| Good for you, you are an angel. Hopefully your Aunt and Uncle will take him. I work in a nursing home and when therapy dogs come in it make the day for a lot of our alzheimers residents. Keepin my fingers crossed for you. |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I don't support mixed breeding, but I did read that they are great therapy dogs. I actually think any dog would be great therapy for one like my uncle. At any rate, I hope it works. I am thinking maybe they just want me to tell them that everything she said is true (potty trained etc) We will see. At this point with my house full, what is one more!? LOL |

| Lucky boy, to have someone like you to take him in. I agree with you about seeing yorkie in the mix. I owned a mini schnauzer for 11 years and I just don't see any schnauzer in the mix. I could be wrong but I would expect so see more schnauzer texture in the hair. No matter the mix he is beautiful and I wish you luck in finding him a new home. |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Ok. So, I got Miko. Oh my goodness y'all, he is so laid back and the sweetest boy. He would be perfect for an older couple. His hair was all in his eyes, so I took him to the groomer. I was very impressed she had a quit blanket that she had made for him, all his toys, crate, harness, leash & collar. She gave me his shampoo, brush, treats, everything. She started balling crying, I felt so bad, but she said she just couldnt take him to LA because she is living with some people that said no dogs. Anyway, she had sent me a link to a breeder (schnauzer and poodle site) so I assumed she had gotten him from this person. Well, that is not the case, she said she just sent me that site to see what the mixes look like. She got him from a near by shelter when he was a pup & they told her he was a schnauzer/poodle mix. I don't think so at all. I think he is definitely a yorkie mix. He is taller than I thought he would be, he is a pretty big boy. But, he is just so sweet. Someone will be very blessed to have him. I really hope it turns out to be my aunt and uncle, but if not I will find him the perfect home. What do yall think? If you were to guess what kind of mix? |
