| Hello... Just an Introduction.... Hello, I'm Donna, I'm considering aquiring a Yorkie and am doing research on the the breed. I have heard they are prone to skin allergies. I would like you guys help talk me out of or into a Yorkie.... My previous Mini Schnauzer, Eli, passed due to liver failure not long ago and was one of our family. Thanks, Donna |

| Hello and welcome to YT! You will find a wealth of info here about the yorkie breed. I personally am head over heels in love with this breed, as are most of us. I started with one, intending to stop there, but they are like potato chips and I just couldn't stop with 1! LOL

| Welcome to YT Donna. Yorkies are not prone to skin allergies. Some do have allergies that require a simple diet change to chicken or grain free foods. I think this is common in many breeds today. Check out the YT Library for many informative threads that will help you make your decision about whether or not a Yorkie is right for you. |

| Welcome to the group! I think many people here will talk you into getting a yorkie. They're get dogs. Make sure you do your homework and only buy a puppy from a reputable breeder. There are a lot of great breeders here on YT. Sorry to hear about your mini schnauzer. How old was he?

| You will just love this site, there is so much info and help and most people are very friendly. Our Merlin is just a bundle of joy and fun, we just love him. Of course he is the most handsome, smart and adorable baby and everybody who has met him so far thinks the same. And although he loves to be a lap dog he still is a "real" dog, just in a tiny body. In the end you have to decide for yourself and hopefully you will get all the information you need. Good luck. |

| Welcome. I've never had one that had skin allergies or irritations and they are usually a good breed for a human that might have them as they do not shed like other breeds. Let's see, how can I talk you out of getting a Yorkie? Hmmmmm.. Won't happen here.......hahaha Most of us are working on the how not to keep adding MORE to the family.....LOL
