| O.k...now I'm scared! As some of you know I had planned to place Peanut and then changed my mind bcause the little guy is so darned cute. Well, today he was playing with the girls, who are at least twice his size, and when they all ran for the toy I heard him squeek My husband picked him up and he was fine...I think they just scared him or something but now I'm nervous and I wonder if I made the right decision in keeping him. I don't want anything to happen to him but I don't want to let him go! Generally the girls are very gentle with him but when I heard him squeek I thought he got hurt. Any advice from others who have a significant size difference in your dogs?? |

| My two are within 2 pounds, but Nalas best friend (Britster's dog Jackson) is a lot bigger, and they play so neither one gets hurt. It's so funny because it looks really rough, but they wrestle and have the time of their lives. Maybe once or twice Nala has squeaked, but more as a "time to stop" not because she was hurt. They should be able to find a happy balance. |

| I only have 1 yorkie but I have a 15.3 lb boston terrier who is 9 months old and a 4.5 lb chi. They play together all the time. Sophie (BT) is completely gentle with Puff. She will even get down on one shoulder to be her height when she wants to play. Sometimes Puff will squeek but Sophie is just as apt to also. Just watch them closely esp for a while is my opinion.

| As long as this doesn't happen daily, I'm sure he'll be alright.. it could have been a small accident?

| Don't be worried about the squeaking, he probably isn't hurt. I have 3 yorkies, Tessie the only girl is 11 lbs, Hobbes is 15 lbs, and the baby Calvin is 8 lbs. They can play very rough sometimes and get aggressive but they never hurt each other. Calvin is a whiner but Hobbes will drag him around on the floor and Calvin yelps but he is never hurt, he really enjoys it. Calvin even loves to play with our 15 lb cat, Simon will sometimes slap him but Calvin yelps and keeps on playing. Calvin and Hobbes are brothers from different litters. I would keep Peanut since you love him so much.

| Those squeaks are how they tell each other "OK, gettin' a little rough, play nice or I'll take my toys and go home". Basically a polite request to the other(s) to ease up a little bit. If you ever have the chance to be around a litter of pups around 6-8 weeks old you'll hear a lot of those little squeaks as they test their limits and learn how far they can go playing with each other before someone calls a time out. |

| Well, those squeaks are happening more often so the girls must be getting too rough with him. I would feel awful if something happened to him...maybe it's time for me to start looking for a new home for my little Peanut. |

| Give me a break...that little Peanut has been beating up the girls all the time and one little squeek and you are going to put him into another home???? I have a 8 month old 2# little girl who does the same thing...I always check her out but she always goes back for more...these little ones are pretty smart about staying out of harms way for the most part...Accidents do happen but unless it is going on all the time I wouldn't be to worried...He also maybe playing it. I noticed little sweety is communicating more and more...

| Has he shown signs of actually getting hurt? I would think that it is just him telling them that he's had enough. We have a 23lb. Yorkie and he plays with my smaller guys (on occasion) and we've never had anyone get hurt. These guys are so smart and seem to be very aware of their size differences. |

| It's happening a lot Cindy...several times a day. My girls outweigh him by several pounds and it does make me nervous when they end up in a pile chasing after a toy and he squeaks because of it. |

| Sorry, I hope you know I was joking...because I do understand the size issue. From my experience, the little ones know to stay out of bad situations if they think they can be hurt. My dogs range is size from 15#'s to 2#'s and when they start running the little ones do not jump into the middle of the fray. I guess it is like you and I...if something hurts us we don't keep doing it or I hope you don't... When it happens what has Peanut done immediately after?

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Rhett is nearly double Oliver's weight (7.9 vs. 4.2). Oliver usually has the upper hand on Rhett despite the size difference. But every once in awhile, Oliver will let out a yelp during playtime. My mom would freak out at first, she was absolutely sure my bruiser boy was hurting her little man. But after watching them really closely, we found that Oliver was using the yelp to get Rhett to back off when Rhett had the upper hand. And once Rhett had backed off, it was always Oliver who then proceeded to be the first to pounce again (usually once Rhett had turned his back!) |

My Point is that if mine can survive Jack, Peanut should be just fine. | |

| Wyatt is 5 pounds and Widget is 10. Wyatt crys like he is being eaten when Widget gets rough with him. I have never seen a drop of blood or any injury. I think Wyatt knows when he has had enough and uses his cry to get Widget to lay off. It certainly seems to work well. Then they are back again rolling around on the floor. The first time and maybe the second time it happened it scared me to death. I ran over and picked up Wyatt but I soon learned he knows how to get himself out of trouble and it's what works for him.
