Good luck! I hope everything turns out for the best for Molly. Wait till you meet the lady in person. She may have been duped before, so she's being cautious when it comes to Molly. I hope everything turns out for the best!

That was my thinking, too. Who knows what they may have been through in trying to find her. It's possible your assessment of her is dead on, but she may have also been burned during the search so she may be leery. Hopefully, what ever the outcome will be in Molly's best interest.

Well, no go on buying her...She just called me again.

I asked her and she begged me not to keep the dog from her. She said it's a family dog and that she'll give me $100 for my inconvience. I still don't trust the lady, but I won't go back on my original pledge to find her owner.

You can't go back on your word of finding her owner...but ask what they are planning to do about the puppy. Just hold onto the thought that everything happens for w reason. If my brother and his wife would have kept the golden they never would have gotten Clyde their mini labradoodle who is the absolute love of their lives. Some lucky pup will get the privilege of having you for an owner so just hold on to the fact that somewhere out there your baby is waiting for you! Wasn't this one but it wasn't meant to be! Never works out to force things that aren't meant to be! Give her back and know that you took the best care of her and that you did a good thing by reuniting dog and owner! Hang in there and keep us posted when you find your forever baby! :-)

Geez, if this were my dog I would be out the door before you finished talking AND offering to recoup ALL of your expenses and then some

Anyway... you are doing what is right by returning her to her owners, we can only hope for the best for her and obviously for you... good things will come to you for all you have done for this little one!

When you advertised that you had found a dog, did you mention that she was dressed and what it looked like?

I'm with the others: if one of mine had gone missing, I'd be on the road before you could hang up the phone. Perhaps she had reasons, but I'm not sure.

Maybe she'll get there and Molly *isn't* hers! You should know by the way Molly reacts to her.

In any event, best wishes to you. I know it will break your heart ...

it's just that when I was talking to this woman I was telling her how I take her for walks, we have playtime, I've taken her to the vet, etc..she didn't seem to interested in all that.

She asked if she could see her today, and I told her I was in Cincy (45min away) and she said, "ok we'll I'll try to get over there tomorrow" I guess I just didn't hear that 'sigh of relief" coming from her..

Ok..maybe i'm gonna stop going on and on about this...

Depending on how big it is, donating to this site won't be such a bad idea. I could also help me save up for my own yorkie too.
Hi there...Molly sure was fortunate to have had you as her guardian angel. I can 'hear' the sadness in your posts. I would be sad too. It's wonderful that you've done the right thing to return her to her owners. Hopefully they will be more careful with her. Being reimbursed for the vet visit wouldn't be unreasonable. If I had been Molly's owner, I would have zoomed over to get her RIGHT AWAY!!! Ingrid (a fellow Ohioan)

Did she sound young? It could be she has no transportation until someone comes home from work. I'm really trying to stay positive. Regardless, you did an extraordinary thing. You cared for Molly like if she was your own and God, Karma, or whatever you believe in will reward you for your selfless act of kindness.

I know this won't make me popular but it sounds to me like you would like to be able to find a reason not to give her back to the owner and I can totally understand that, but the truth is the woman was apparently still looking for her dog or you two wouldn't have ended up talking to each other. She may not handle things exactly as some of us would but most people don't raise their children the way I would like either.

Be happy that you saved her from possible harm and that you got to enjoy her for 2 1/2 weeks and that you might possibly get to see her in the future. You have done an admirable thing.

I just wanted to say I can understand why you would be sad.. but honestly.. EVERYONE is different.. we all react differently and that is what makes the world so wonderful. It would be so boring if everyone was the same. I am sure the owner LOVES her dog VERY much! SHE didn't put the dog on the hood of a car and forget her. It was her boyfriend.. and I imagine she is probably majorly pissed at him. How many of us have spouses, boyfriends, children, etc who do NOT care for our babies in the same way we do? Try not to judge her.. she is the dogs owner and deserves to get her back. I hope that you will be able to get your own baby VERY soon. YOU deserve that too!

Just wanted to say that Tedomom has a rehome offer on another thread. She has a puppy she can no longer take care of......just another thought when one door closes another one opens....I know your sad, but you really are doing the right thing and Molly is very greatful. Hopefully Molly will be really happy to see her family and that will make you feel better.

Please consider taking the money she offered. Even if you don't want it, there are so many worthy causes you could donate it to. Or, as others said, put it toward giving another pup a wonderful home with you.
