I am so glad Marcel is better. It must have scared the life out of you. This type of thing scares me to death. Although I and my husband have read the CPR instructions I've never actually practiced it. I wonder if anyone near me offers these classes for pet CPR. I think I would feel more confident if I could attend a class on small dog CPR. Good job at not panicking.

I just re-read both CPR and Heimlich instructions - you are so right to have that memorized - you never know

OMG....Ann....so scary - just thinking/reading of this had me crying, I can only imagine how horrible it was for you and Marcel. What a relief he is okay now!

Thank you for the reminder about CPR - I've taken the course for humans but will def now refresh myself, especially about pet CPR.

Oh Ann, I'm so happy for you and I'm so glad you where able to keep your wits about you even though you where in such a panic to save precious Marcel!

It's a special thing we moms tend to posses in a time of crisis, half of ourselves can be in utter panic yet the other half is in automatic *help and rescue* mode. It's not until the crisis is over when all the emotion of it all just makes you want to collapse in a puddle of tears and full body shaking......Good job mom and thanks for the reminder for all of us. We all should brush up on not only CPR but all first aid measures....Give Marcel plenty of loving from all of us!

A good reminder to also never give chews unattended

I have a friend that gives her dogs rawhide (eek!!!) before she leaves for work in the morning. Maybe relating your story to her could change her mind, Lord knows she hasn't listened to me so far

What a terrible ordeal. I really can't imagine what horror you were going through.

I'm an advocate for C.E.T. chews. But, as soon as they get on the smaller and softer side I take them away.

I'm so glad you kept your cool and Marcel pulled through.

Taking a CPR class would be great, because you never know, but you might want to consider throwing the chews away or returning them...just a thought.

Holly Cow Ann! I am so sorry you had to go through this. Very Scary. Pablo had a piece of Nylabone lodged in his throat and I too had to stick my hand down to try and remove it. You poor thing. I'm glad Marcel is better. Big Hugs to both of you.

OMG!! Ann, I'm in tears reading this. Poor little Marcel, and poor you! That was terrifying just reading about it. I just hung the CPR instructions on my fridge a few weeks ago, but I need to read them regularly in case of emergency. I am so, so happy your baby boy is alright! Sending you both lots of big hugs.
