| Best age to neuter? Nikko is 6 months, is now a good time to neuter him? I know these small dogs are not the same as the big ones I'm more familiar with! |

| You will get lots of varied answers on this topic. I personally would prefer to wait until 8-10 months. I would wait that long in hopes that all the baby teeth come out and it not, he'll only need to be put under once. To do a 3 in one procedure so to speak. He'll be neutered, retained teeth pulled, and microchipped.

| Work with your vet, they'll show you how to check. But, remember some vets won't agree with this. Mostely because they just don't study growth patterns and they're into medicine. Just insist.

Is there anything specific we should ask the vet?

| Growth plates are checked on the front legs. The vet will run his thumbs down the front and check for closure. The can teach you how to check for them.
