To those of you with Yorkies that have shorter cuts... I am thinking of getting Roxie groomed into a shorter cut, nothing extreme, but something easily managed and still cute. Any suggestions, pictures of your yorkies that are cut this way?? My avatar pic is when I had her groomed last time, but her hair has grown so wild since then...lol...Thanks.:) |
2 Attachment(s) I groomed penny myself i love her all soft and shaven |
does she have a silky or cottony coat? |
4 Attachment(s) I keep morgan really short most of the time. its just easier. i leave her head longer but not too long. here are a few pictures of her in various lengths. she is a cotton coat so her hair is poofy not straight and silky. the last picture is from a few days ago. |

2 Attachment(s) This is my Roxie! I take her to Petsmart for grooming, and she comes back looking a little different each time. Thankfully, they've never done anything really bad. |
3 Attachment(s) Some pictures of lily after her haircut we got a short body longer legs and groomed face and i love it :D shes not due again until end of June. The last picture was taken before we went to groomers and as you can see she was very fluffy although the wind was blowing making it look wilder than usual hehe. When she goes in June going to get her ears saved shorter this time but other than that sticking with same cut :D yvonne xx |

I keep Elliott in a puppy cut, pictures are below. First picture is in the car (with friend) right after the cut. Second picture is from about a month later. I usually get him cut every six weeks or so. |

I will be completely honest with you. It is silky right after you wash it, but then it poofs out, so I honestly have no clue..lol...Very new to yorkies, so I have no idea. How do we post pictures here, and I can show you what her coat looks like? Thanks. |
Thanks to everyone for sharing their pictures! Everyone one of these little ones are just too adorable for words, and I really do like the shorter cuts. Seems easier to manage, one question though. Her facial hair is kinda long, if I decide to trim it up a bit, how long does it take for that to grow back normally? She seems so miserable in all this Carolina heat. Thanks. |

4 Attachment(s) Bentley and Chloe just got their summer cuts for the first time a few days ago. Here is a couple pics of them. |
Your little one's are all so cute.:p |
1 Attachment(s) Pete was matted pretty badly so I took him to petsmart... they had to shave him. I will never do this again, we're going to brush everyday and find another place to keep him at a puppy cut! |
1 Attachment(s) This is what Pete looked like before! |
Pete looks adorable either way! look at those ears now |

3 Attachment(s) I gave Rily and Saydee their "summer buzz" yesterday. I like to dress my babies ;) so, I cut them pretty short. Both are kinda cottony, so they mat easily too. :p |

Scooter also has a short cut (pictures to follow) and I just love how silky and sweet he feels with his short cut. Also with our terrible summers in Florida and the fact that Scoots is an outdoorsy kind of guy...the short cut is the only way to go. |
1 Attachment(s) I keep Levi's hair cut short - he runs around and rolls around and gets into way too many messes, so a short haircut keeps him from getting so many mats and dreadlocks. |
Mr. Buttons has a puppy cut!!! |
Thanks so much everyone for all the pictures! I think def. I will be getting her groomed into one of these shorter cuts. I am not too much for bows and frills, so something short and manageable will work for us. I am going to try and post some pictures later when I get home of what she currently looks like. Thanks again! |
You guys are all cutting it, and I'm trying to grow it. (he's almost a year old, and i finally convinced my husband it was MY turn to make the decisions on the cut) With Derby having floppy ears, It's hard. I don't know what to do with them! I kept shaving up until 10 months and no luck... They kind of flip out now? It's quite humerous, They look like WINGS!! He has a thin, cotton coat, that's wavy. The longer it gets, the flatter it sits. So I'm hoping this is the case once it gets to a nice length! Right now I'm at battle with my hubby. He keeps telling me I'll come home one day and Derby will be SHAVED! ughhh I hope not. I love the short look too! it looks neater, but damnit it I want to see it long too! lol! |
