![]() I didn't do a smooth move as a new mommy and didn't research before I went to the vet because I thought I would have a vet that would take the time to discribe to me the best thing for my new baby. Well when I got to the vet I was flooded with information and asked a ton of questions. I said no to all of the different shots they were offering but when it came to the H3N8 shot, they were saying how it would be good to get it and this and that and gave me a brochure on it so I ended up getting that shot along with the 3 month booster. Now after reading about it I regret getting it for my baby and I have to go back in 4 weeks to get the other part of the shot. Is it ok if I tell them that I don't want her to have the other part of the H3N8 shot or do I get the rest of it and just never get it again? I am pretty upset right now because I feel like they should have flat out told me that it wasn't needed instead of giving me the option. UGH! It's been a week and a half since she got it and I haven't seen any weird side effects but I don't want to give her something that is supposed to "prevent" sickness and actually make her sick. It was hard enough seeing her in pain from the shot itself. Please let me know if I should get the rest of the shot or not.

![]() No, I went to Ames Pet Hospital. I've only gone once and it really wasn't a bad experience just the fact that all the questions and vaccines weren't really explained to me. Are you from around DSM/Ames?

![]() Yes, I read through them. Thanks! It was nice to know more about vaccines. I know that I will not get anything more than just the basics that is needed no matter if they try selling them to me. I will see if I can get out of the 2nd dose of the H3N8. I do not live in a wooded area and was also wondering about a flea and tick medicine. Could I just substitute a shampoo instead of the meds? Do you know anything about that? ![]()
