My First Try at Grooming!!!

Oh wow, your first time you did a wonderful job, I think you can do the rest too, just trim around the paws, with a small round tip scissor under it, just be very careful and patient, or you can use the electrical trimmer , get the styptic powder for the nails if bleed, the best time is after the bath when they are soft, do it little by little, or you can filed them ( or do both), sally beauty has very good strong files, the bum is not that hard, I use the small round scissor as well, you can do it

You make it sound so easy!!! Maybe as I get braver and Chloe gets more used to me messing with her I might work up the courage. I do wish I was brave enough to clip her toenails because they grow so fast! Maybe I can have the vet show me a good length to trim them to the next time we're there...I'm just worried that because I have no real knowledge of what I'm doing, I could accidentally hurt her.

Hey! I've actually had to trim Lexi's butt hairs because her poo kept getting stuck. I usually just make her stand, and hold her lower half up so that she doesn't sit and slowly trim till its neat. For some reason that always works out for me. I'm actually going to start trying to groom her myself. As for nails, i'm going to try be brave and ask a friend to help me out a couple times till i'm comfortable doing it on my own.

Chloe looks great! I love the length and it's all so even. I've been grooming Lizzie, but I take the chicken way out and let it all grow and just trim the ends. I have this little Conair dog clipper that I got at Target that I use on her feet, face and around her little butt.
I've been thinking of maybe giving her a longish puppy cut, you may have given me the inspiration to try it. Chloe looks so cute with her new cut.
