Olive Olive is getting spayed tomorrow (well technically today) and I can't sleep because I'm so upset! I know she'll be okay and the doctor has done this a million times but I haven't had a night without her since she was 6 weeks old and now she's 5 months old! :( I'm so sad that she has to stay over night. I drop her off at 7:30 in the morning and I can't pick her up until Tuesday morning. She'll probably have to sleep in a crate in the vet's office. :( I told her that I love her and I'm sorry she has to go through this. I'm a wreck :( If you all could keep her in your prayers, I would appreciate it! Thanks. |
Hang in there. Olive will be just fine. I know it's hard not to worry. I'll keep Olive in my prayers. Keep us updated on how she does. |
I understand, been there before, will pray for you and your little one, think positive, here a useful link, that I think is very important: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...-protocol.html |
I'll keep Olive in my prayers. I know how nervous we can get. The vet told me to pick Kaji up at 3 from his neuter, I was there at 2:30! I just wanted him home again. |
Thanks, everyone for your support. I'm trying not to cry and get all upset. They said I can pick her up as soon as they open at 9 on Tuesday. I requested Tuesday off from work so I can stay home with her all day and to make sure she stays low key. She's a pretty hyper girl. Thank you, also, for the article to read. I just hope I don't forget her wonderful Kiss E-Cone collar to leave with her. Gosh, I want to leave her with a blanket or something! I wish I knew what to do. I'm so lucky Valerie took care of Treasure's spay for me, I don't think I'd be able to do this twice! |
Sending prayers for Olive this morning. I know how stressful this is. She will do great and I hope the time goes by fast for you until you get to pick her up. |
You got it. Hoping and praying for a safe surgery and a speedy recovery. |
Sending prayers for Olive...Btw, you can insist on bringing her home, if you want to...I did...I understand the tears, as I was a water faucet, when I dropped my little Apple off...She did great, and was only uncomfortable for a couple of days...Day three, I was a nervous wreck, all over again, because she wanted to jump around  |

sending lots of prayer for Miss Olive :) |
Prayers for Miss. Olive today AND you because really its worse for you. :)[/QUOTE] Oh this is so true - When I went to pick Bridget up (the same day),still all teary, she looked at me like "What are you crying about?!" The hardest part was keeping her calm. She had 9 baby teeth removed and was chewing on her toys the next day (of course all adult teeth were already in), and wanting to jump on the cats! Hang in there - you have loads of prayers coming your way!!! She'll be just fine - and for you I might suggest a nice glass of wine! |
I'd request to pick her up today, but I have to work 1-9, so that really won't work. I had requested tomorrow off because I thought picking her up today wouldn't be possible. At least she'll have doctors there if anything happens/there's any complications, which there won't be. Thank you all for your prayers and kind words. Oh, and Donna, a bottle of wine sounds great right now, lol! |
Sending prayers and positive thoughts. Been there, done that. BIG hugs!! |
Special thoughts to you and Olive. She'll be getting lots of TLC in no time:) |
Hang in there Sweetie. You will just have to keep yourself very busy. I know it is hard. I just went through this with Bailey so I totally understand. Hugs Stacy |
Keeping Olive in my prayers for a safe spay. |

Keeping her in my prayers. Sending you both lots of hugs. |
Awww, Susan, Olive will be back in your arms in no time! She will be very happy to have you all to herself tomorrow. Sending good thoughts and prayers! :) |
Sending prayers for little Olive! Please keep us posted!! I'm sure she will be fine!! Can you send her blanket with her so she will wake up and have that smell? I always took my own Sherpa crate and had their blanket and toy inside so when they woke up they were in familiar surroundings. All they had to do was hand me my crate when i picked them up and they didn't have to handle her so much. I kept them in the crate the whole night and next day...just out to potty. If you have a stroller, you can put her in that and roll her around from room to room so she is always with you. Good luck honey! She will be just fine!! |
Sending prayers and thoughts for beautiful Olive! I'm gonna lie -- when I dropped Jackson off to get neutered, I got in the car and cried a little bit. There's always a certain fear when anyone gets put under, but I just reminded myself it's sooo routine, and he will be fine. :) He was ready to be picked up by 2pm that same day, and I was there at 1:45 waiting, hehe. Good luck Olive! |
Keeping Olive in my thoughts and prayers! I know how difficult this is, I am sure she will be just fine though :) |

I'm sorry Olive has to stay all night. I know how much you miss her and how much you worry, too. I was the same way. Sending prayers for little Olive. |
Sending prayers for little Ms. Olive. I'm sure all will go well, try to occupy yourself with other things to keep your mind off missing Olive. :) |

Kaji was all curled up in his blankie I had left with him, he seemed so out of it. The good thing is they recover quickly! |
Any word yet? No doubt, she will be fine, and home tomorrow, and back to normal before you know it. |
I am sure that Olive will be just fine. Good thought and prayers headed your way! |
Thanks so much! I thought about bringing her blankie, but I wasn't sure if I could. Now I wish I had :( Oh well, she'd probably pee on it anyway, lol. My worry is she was shaking a little on the car ride there so I don't know if she was just nervous or if she was a little hypoglycemic. They said to stop feeding her at 8pm last night. I'm sure the vet will take care of her. I called when they said I could and they said Olive was doing just fine, which made me feel a little better, but I won't feel 100% until I see her for myself and she's home again. |
Olive is home now! I woke up in time to get showered and go get her and by the time I'm walking out the door, (half an hour before the vet opens) the vet is calling me to please come pick up my dog because she's been barking all morning lol. Sure enough while I'm making my payments and asking the vet questions, I can hear my puppy barking for me. It kinda made me happy that she missed me as much as I missed her (I hardly slept the past couple nights). She covered me in kisses as soon as they put her in my arms :) She was so excited she didn't know what to do with herself, lol. She wanted to be held on the car ride but I made sure she stayed safe in her carseat. Now she is home and seemingly back to her old self already, with the exception of her being a little tired, which I'm sure is normal. They said she ate like a little piggy this morning so she probably won't eat later. If I know my little piggy, she'll eat again around 11, but if she doesn't I'll understand. She's already gone potty so everything seems in working order :) Thank you for the love and prayers, it helped us through! |
Glad to hear that she is back home! I know you both are relieved its over. continued prayers through the healing process. |
