| Help Cody hates the leash How do you get your little ones used to walking on a leash. My older girls loves going for walks but my little guys does not like it at all. He takes a few steps then stops. Any ideas |

| persistence, persistence, persistence!! hi there!! i got my little one a few weeks ago ... she's a rescue and she had clearly never been walked on a leash before, so she did the same thing. i had heard of dogs pulling their owners, but never sitting back resisting them!! that's what she did. maybe a few steps here and there. i just put her on a short leash (maybe 3 feet) and i let the leash go slack and i just walked like i didn't even notice. i paid her no attention, just pretended like she wasn't resisting. i think she resisted for about the first 10 blocks or so and then she got the hang of it and started to walk. we practiced that every day and now she knows exactly what to do!!! it didn't even take 3 days. she's an adult, so we walk for quite a while, but it worked for us!! good luck!! |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I'm no help - my 2 took right to them - you could try carrying a treat with you and offer it every few steps - gradually tapering off until he finds out walks are fun ? |
