| Stinky boy We have 4 yorkies, 3 we keep in short hair, but one of our boys has such pretty hair we decided to let his grow out. Well we have a problem with this.....He is sooooo stinky now! Any suggestions on what to do? He gets a bath once a week, but in 2 days he's smelly again. If I can't fix this I will have to shave him down and my husband will be very mad at me. | Do you wash his face every day? I know on my two, their facial furnishings get smelly if I don't wash and comb their faces and beards every day. I also use a water bottle, because their beards get soaked if they drink from a bowl, then the hair starts smelling sour.

| It is a sour smell but I assumed it was urine. |

| Jada has a urine smell if I don't keep her bum washed and it is a different smell, more like a very light ammonia smell. The beard and face area seems to start being smelly quickly if I don't wash it every day.

| Is he intact (not neutered)? Intact males have a pretty powerful urine odor. Males tend to urinate on their bellies. If you keep him shaved on his belly up to his ribcage, it won't show and may help the odor. |

| I agree with the shaving of the belly, it does not at all show with the long coat on the sides and on their chest. I shave mine down to the skin all the way up to the outline of the bottom of the rib cage. |

| I had grown Jack's hair long until about a month ago. I kept the hair on his belly cut short and the hair around his penis I kept trimmed short. This helped eliminate the urine smell. I also had to wash his face daily and sometimes two or three times a day depending on what he ate.

| face wash question i just got some SPA face wash for bijou, but i'm not sure what to do after i wash her face ... she doesn't like the hairdryer aimed directly at her face ... do you normally just towel dry their faces after washing? |
