Is there anything else I need to get and can yall give me some tips/advice on keeping everything safe and fun in the sun on the lake! oh and no worries I will have leash attached at all times and in the boat they will be held securely. Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | How FUN ! We usually fly up to MN w/ the boys each summer bc my inlaws also have a house on a lake - it's so fun. The boys love it. Wylie loves to fetch in the water and swim in the lake - he could do this *all* day long. He's part labrador retriever, I think. Marcel follows right in after Wylie (like Marcel does for everything)...but the lake wake sometimes is too big for Marcel - so I keep an eye on the wake. They do not wear life jackets for their swimming - they swim just great. If you think they want to fetch in the water - make sure you bring plastic/rubber toys that will float - so they can see where the toy is in the water. At the lake, their fur can get kinda full of sand - so sometimes you need a lot of baths and conditioning rinses, fyi. Out on the boat, we always bring towels or blankets in case the wind is bothering them and we hold them whenever we're moving faster than a trolling speed (or if they want to be held). They do just fine on the boat .

My Lil Man! Donating Member | There isnt any sand around their area but I still plan to pack their shampoo and definitely conditioner cause I plan to bathe them possibly every night if they need it cause Im sure we will do lots of swimming. They have never done any of this before and the lake they live on is VERY deep so I myself dont even get in without a life jacket so most likely I will keep their life jackets on them as well. Just for safety precautions! lol. Im hoping it wont be too hot so we dont have to worry about the heat too bad cause I want this to be a good fun experience for them! |
