| Got a shock at the Vet today Ok my YT friends help me out with this one. When I took Bailey in this morning to get spayed, I stayed to see her weight. Well did I get a shock. She only weighted 1.3 lbs. Now two weeks ago when they weighted her she was 2 lbs. She eats really well. So how is it that she lost almost half her body weight. I do not see how this is possible. I am hoping that the scales were off or they didn't get an accurate weight. Her blood work came out fine so she isn't sick. I almost didn't leave her to have the procedure done. I was a basket case about getting it done when I thought she was 2 lbs. You can imagine how much more freaked out I was when I found out she was only 1.3 lbs. Oh and they just called and said she is doing fine. she was sitting up looking around and I could pick her up tomorrow at 10.

| Best wishes to your Bailey for a successful surgery and speedy recovery. She is a cutie! I looked at your pictures of Bailey and I think she looks like she is at least 2 pounds. When dogs are that small, it's a good idea to have an accurate scale at home to monitor their weight all their lives. You can use a food scale or a good baby scale. |

| This happened once to me with Sofia, it really scarred me. We found out there was something under the edge of the scale, so there weights had been off all day. I knew what Sofia weighed because I weighed her at home every day until she got to about 2.5 lbs. Now I weigh her a couple times a week, just to make sure she at least stays there. When they're this small every ounce counts. I'm glad Baily did well in her surgery, shell be happy to come home tomorrow. |

| I got a digital postal scale on ebay. they are extremely accurate and resonably priced. do a search for digital postal scale. I would get the one that goes up to about 25 pounds.

| they measure dee dee in the baby scales at vet office as they said the bigger scales are not real accurate with small dogs. She is 7lbs. Did they weigh her in the baby scale or on the one she stands on? |

| Oh, I hope your baby is ok. Seems to be doing fine now. I use these scales for shipping, like Sunni said. They seem to be extremely accurate, weight to the tenths of ounces. This one weighs up to 10 pounds Amazon.com: USPS PS-100 10 lb. Desk Top Postal... This one weighs up to 5 pounds Amazon.com: USPS PS-105 5 lb. Desk Top Postal... You can possibly find it cheaper on ebay.

| yeah the big ones are not accurate. Last time I took Uni they only got 4.5 on the big one. I said no way, asked them to reweigh on the small one. That one she was 5.1. Big difference.
