| You're not alone, we all get nervous when our babies are spayed/neutered. This will be over soon and Fizz will be back in mommy's arms getting lots of TLC

| When he gets home he will be very groggy probably for the rest of the day. Some people say to offer him some boiled chicken. I used to feed my guys water with a spoon just to get something in them. By morning he should be back to his normal self. Poor little guys they look so pityful when they are mopey. Wishing your baby a speedy recovery. Just be careful when you pick him up. Try to scoop him up from the butt rather than the underarms. That kind of stretches the abdomin too much. Good luck!! Let us know how he does

| I think we all feel that way no matter how many times you go through it. There will be a no jumping/running order when you bring him home. He is a little cutie. Are you going to get to bring him home this evening?

| I pick him up tonight about 4 or 5...I will be counting the hours...The more I learn about his personality the more I love him. I am now so used to him being here the house feels empty. Looking forward to better breath and cuddling tonight. I will give him all the love I can. |

| I'll be thinking of you and Fizz today and say a prayer that all goes well. I know that nervous feeling. It's such a relief to get it all behind you!

| I do remember they told me just a little water and food later. I had some freshly baked skinless chicken breast cooked for her and she ate a little of that.

| Your little one will home before you know it. he'll be out of it for sure the rest of the day so some quiet me time might be good. You could probably offer him some boiled chicken and rice or maybe some softened dry, depending on what type of diet he has. Know exactly what you mean about being nervous, they are so easy to fall madly in love with and you just get so used to them being underfoot. Hugs!

| Oh my it is not good at this point. Please help with info. The vet just called and after pre-op tests...his liver readings (3 different ones plus high protines in the urine) are too high to do the nueter. They want to keep him for three days on an antibiotic IV. Then I would take him home and do some sub-cutaneous antibiotics. Guess my son being a diabetic will have taught me how to do the shots. The vet believes the teeth being so bad may have caused this...glad I found the little guy...he was not taken care of before. I think my vet will let me make payments...otherwise I don't know how to pay for this...sigh. I LOVE my vet he is so careing. His words"you saved his life once and we will work to make his life even better. The teeth need to be done asap...so we will wait for the three days see what the next steps are. They will probably clean his teeth then but not nueter til later...They just called back and will let me pay over 6 months...may I just say again I really appreciate my vet. |

| Sorry was a little upset...I meant his kidneys... he is on an IV and was real cuddly when my son and I went to see him. Still it sucks to have to leave him even though I can visit any time... |

| Don't get too upset yet. When you go to the vets, ask him to explain exactly what the readings mean to Fizz. You don't want to leave without a full explanation. That way you won't be wondering why this and why that. You might ask him to give you a copy of the readings and then when they take them again after the antibiotics. There are some wonderful people here on YT that can explain this stuff very well when they see what the readings are, too. You're not alone.

What was high on the blood work? Usually if periodontal it is high globulins My demi had periodontal disease at 4 she lost 27 teeth by a bc dentist when they usually can save teeth so i know what blood work looks like for periodontal disease If kidneys the bun and creatinine and bun/creatinine ratio so sounds like those were the three values that were high? If creatinine is high then that is a bigger problem than if bun is high If it is kidneys please join K9KIDNEY on yahoogroups.com immediately they know alot about this How old is your dog?
