| She's so pretty in her long coat, but if you're wanting to cut it, go for it. How would you do it...in a puppy cut? I've been thinking I should do something with Libby, but her hair grows so slowly that if I cut it and don't like it, it will take forever to grow back. I cut Maddie very close on her body and leave the legs, tail and face longer. She's a cotton coat and she gets so hot in the summer...even with it short. If you decide to clip Missy, we need to see pictures! So glad little Dora is doing so well after her surgery! Your girls are both little dolls!

| Missy is beautiful with her long hair. But then again Missy would be beautiful no matter what haircut she has. ![]() I'm so happy to hear that Dora's recovery went well. Big hugs to both girls!

| Personally, I like the longer haircuts. I had Tatum's done in a "layered long look" years ago and for some reason, it really hasn't gotten any longer. I still have to trim her ears and between her paws but that's been it. Both of your's are adorable!

| I was at the Tampa Yorkie Meet on Saturday, and got to meet a lot of nice people and great dogs. I also got the chance to see a lot of different coats and cuts. Bella wears her hair long. I keep it about and inch or so above the floor, and her face hair is modified. But after seeing some of those *gorgeous* specimens, I really like the LONG face hair, so maybe we'll try to grow it out. If we don't like it, we can always trim it back ![]() I always thought Puddie was a cotton coat because it was so thick and wavy. But I was told I was misinformed ... he just has a THICK coat. But I keep him in a puppy cut, which is MUCH more suitable to his personality and life style ... you know the kind: "let's dig under the shed and see what we can find!!!" - kind . If he was in anything other than a puppy cut, it would be unbearable. So, back to your little girl: She's adorable with the long hair. So maybe you can trim it back a bit for Summer, and let it grow back out again for Winter. Or, find the thread on the Joey cut ( ) - she'd look awfully cute in that cut, and it would be much easier to take care of during the summer. The good thing about hair? It always grows back if you don't like what you did to it |

When I got Lizzy, at nine months, I think this is the cut she had. Really it kind of looked like a shag (dating myself). It was cute, but I don't want to take her to a groomer. I have issues trusting someone else with my dogs. And the only time I did take her to a groomer, I was told she wasn't good. I am so afraid of someone else correcting my dog for anything. I've really worked to try to get her less afraid of strangers, although she still is, kind of. Missy looks gorgeous to me! I don't think Lizzie's coat is as thick, nor is it as long, but she does have the silky coat. Also, I have trimmed the ends and got it a little shorter than I meant to last time and it seems to take forever to grow. And I seem to trim it sloping up towards the back. Makes me nuts. Dora is as cute and can be! I guess maybe it is like some people, you just want to try a change with the hair.

| Our Blessings R Many Donating Member | I would have loved to kept the girls with their beautiful long coat......I went with keeping the shorter cut on our girls this past year, simply because it is easier for me to keep them up. I do think the long is soooooooooo beautiful ![]() Is that your daughter in the second picture? Beautiful little girl and precious picture. I like the name Dora, good ole fashioned name (my Grandmothers name was Dora and my niece named her daughter Dora after my Grandmother.) |
