Why the ads for deceitful breeders and PUPPY MILLS on YT??? - YorkieTalk.com Forums

I haven't noticed this before so it may not be new, but when I logged in tonight, 2 of 3 ads at the top of the page (under the YT header) struck me. One advertises "teacup" yorkies, the other is a Mass. Kennel that has been investigated by local news stations here as a seller for PUPPY MILLS

. I have to ask...why???? Or is this something not controlled by the YT admin's/staff? Here they are, in case something different shows up elsewhere...

Yes, I've been concerned about that in the past and asked. It's in the google banner and YT has no control over those ads. I REALLY wish we could choose not to have those types of ads.

It's an "ad supported site". But that doesn't mean the admin has control of the ads...especially if it runs google ads. Those bots look for "key words" and pop up ads based on those words.

We should be writing to which ever company is doing the ad matchup and tell them their choice of sponsors is reprehensible.

Yes, I agree, but really, it's more important that Yorkietalk members educate as many people as possible why you shouldn't buy from bad breeders. People are going to see bad breeders sites all over the internet, Yorkietalk can't protect them from that, but what we can do is educate on why it's important to support good breeders only, and how to find one, and how to tell the difference between a good and bad breeder, sometimes it isn't that easy.

I belong to another Vbulletin forum with Google ads. If we take a screen shot of an offensive ad, the Admin will remove them.
