| Getting a Yorkie Hopefully Well hopefully I am going to go look at a yorkie Friday. (hope it works out this time). He is supposed to be 6 pounds. 16 months old. AKC. Was just at the vets for his shot updates. Just groomed today. Housebroken. Is there anything different that I should know between a maltese and yorkie? I currently own a maltese and was wondering if I am supposed to do anything differnt with a yorkie. |

| Good luck with getting your puppy! I have a maltese and a yorkie and I can only tell you my experience. My maltese is 3 and is a very laid back lap dog. My yorkie 8 mos is 24/7 energy. As far as health and other things you should now, I will let the more experienced members advise you.

Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | keep us posted if you get your yorkie or not....Maltese 1st and foremost will always have a piece of my heart...it was because of my beloved Kaine that I became a dog lover...i use to fear them big or small... as far as personality wise....Maltese are slightly calmer but still have the terrier personality. Maltese are double coat where as Yorkie are not....if the yorkie is silky then it's pure heaven to care for....lol
