I encountered a very rude lady in PetSmart the other day... I had Chloe with me and this lady and her mother got on line behind me... the lady's mom was loving on Chloe and how cute she was... her daughters like "skippy (her dog apparently) could eat her." okay fine.... I kind of turn around and try to ignore them... the mother goes on telling her daughter she should have gotten a cute little dog... to which the daughter has nasty comments about how she "doesnt want one of those" okay, im still biting my tongue... then I am paying and the cashier asks if I want to donate to homeless animals... they always ask at PetSmart, so I say, sure and the cashier replies with the usual "thanks for helping homeless animals!" to which the lady now very loudly says "I dont need to give money to homeless animals, I actually took in a homeless animal!" I shot her the nastiest glance I could muster and moved on... I had some nice thoughts I wanted to share with her :rolleyes: but the whole point in taking Chloe that day was to make her less nervous in public and my screaming would not have helped that.

I dont know why people constantly feel the need to put down other people... I guess to make them feel better... I didnt say anything about the 30 pound bag of Garbage food she was buying :eek:

Oooops... sorry to go on and on... I guess you see you hit on one of my pet peeves. :D

To me Pixie is a princess in her little dresses and she wears them proud and she loves to have people go gaga over her. If the dresses made her miserable she would not wear them. She actually gets all excited when I pull out an outfit.

So...........I think jumdgemental comments about people that dress their dogs should be kept to themselves.

What you said is exactly right. No one should judge anyone else for what they choose to do with their dogs....and we shouldn't judge them for what the general public non-dog lovers , or rather, non-Yorkie "dressing up lovers" think about what we do, just so long as no one is interfering in anyone else's business....and in most cases, I think we should just ignore it.......like I said, I've gotten my fair share of comments (mostly about my cats, actually)



...well maybe unless of course they are buying that 20grand dog bed in that thread. :eek: Hehe...well..... that's a little much....




And actually, in honor of this thread, just for my OWN personal amusement, and the fact that we weren't able to properly celebrate Poppy's 1year birthday May 6th (2 days ago) I think I might just buy her a "special occasion dress" and deal with getting made fun of by all my friends..... haha

Poppy has about 12 sweaters for when it is cold outside, and she wears the lighter ones in the inside when it is cold. I'm also all for that and for booties when it is snowing, out of necessity...and yes they are gosh darn adorable...but still a necessity.


But trust me, no one is "jealous" your dog is in a dress. I don't even know if I should say that...if it makes you feel better saying that, alright....but I think the feeling of superiority all of you are allowing yourselves to feel is the same feeling of superiority you are bashing in those that insult you. That is the point I am trying to get across here and if I offend anyone, I am sorry. I am happy you all find a little piece of happiness in dressing up your dog.

No one is jealous that your dog has a dress on. There are a million reasons to be jealous of a Yorkie and Yorkie owner, but definitely not this.

This thread sinks as low as those who originally insulted that poor woman and her dog. I didn't want to offend but all the eye rolling, insulting and "jealousy...


Rise above it. I feel you are all better than getting so defensive over something you all know is socially not generally accepted. Do what makes you happy and don't give a hoot what other people think, but don't sink to their level......especially with "jealousy" remarks. That couldn't be further from the truth.
