| ![]() The owner says that he is a registered male with the AKC and is purebred. He seems to have unusually large ears. Just curious if large ears like his can be the norm in this breed. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...41/yorkie3.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...41/yorkie2.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...41/yorkie1.jpg Either way I think I'm picking him up ![]() |

| ![]() I didn't catch what his name is. He appears to be intelligent and has been taught basic commands and is almost potty trained. They have several dogs and that is their excuse for getting rid of him. |

| ![]() silkies have larger ears. That would be a signal to me possible silky terrier in the linage...... If this little guy grabs your heart I say give him a home. Unless akc and purebreed is important to you. Then seek out a reputable breeder. Theres several here. |

| ![]() That is a cute dog and you are right the ears like a little ummm big. But as everyone else says if he has captured your heart take him. Good luck and keep us posted if he becomes part of your family. Some of my favorite posts on Yorkie Talk are when new family members come home, the learning each others personalities.

| ![]() Well I will pick him up either next tuesday or june 1. (I am currently in the process of moving and do not want to put a new dog in that kind of a situation) I am very excited. Now I have to ask (grew up in a home with a yorkie and golden so this will not be my first dog i've lived with) this will be my first dog I have "owned". Should I take him straight to the vet after picking him up or wait a week or two? He is up to date on his shots but he will have to be neutered(but I will wait a few months before doing that). He seemed very healthy and strong. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | ![]() Loving those ears! I'd definitely wait to pick the little guy up until after you have completed your move. A new home is stressful enough to a dog. Adding in moving boxes and a lack of routine is just too much. I always take a new pet to the vet right away (the next day or two). I like to get a clean bill of health, make sure they don't have worms or anything and let my vet get to know them before we have to end up in her office for a sick visit. |
