The #1 and #2 thing, Sophie Kate is the same way sometimes when we go out she goes one time for each and others it is a bunch of times. Have you taken her to the Vet yet? If not make sure you tell them, last time I had Sophie Kate in she has a slight UTI which was causing excessive need to #1.

Good luck and keep me posted, I love reading about new owner and their dogs.
thanks!! she's gone #1 several times, but no #2 yesterday after she ate or today yet ... i'm gonna take her out again shortly, but i'll let the vet know....

If you want to wash her face I recomend Spa Facial Scrub. I use it almost daily on my maltese since they stain very fast. Also brush her teeth atleast 3-4 a week and you can clean her ears with a cotton ball and ear cleaner. The groomer should have plucked her ears hair to keep infection from building up.

Sometimes I think my girl is mix but I wouln't pay for a DNA she's still mine mix or not. Your so lucky to have found her
she does have long legs!! you should see her prancing around, it almost reminds me of a teeny tiny horse

why do you think your baby might be a mix?!? she looks all yorkie to me, both of them are cuties!!!

now, she just went to the vet on friday, but i'm trying to figure out when i need to take her again. i don't want to put her in panic mode or anything and the one she went to said she's healthy and gave her waaaay to many vaccines , but i want to find out (a) what i need to do about her skin condition, (b) whether she needs anything special done on her teeth and (c) about how old she is ... her foster mom told me the vet said she was between 2 and 3, but her vaccination form says 5+ years. so i just want to know for sure. i also need to see where she is with heartworm, etc. oh, there's just so much, but i'm glad to do it.

what do you use for flea treatment?!? she came with the flea collar, so i didn't want to take it off until i had the alternative together. i know those aren't really safe for them....
I think you're better off with no flea treatment at this point. Those flea collars are nasty things! If they can burn a ring into a wooden dresser, imagine what they can do to your baby's neck!

Did your baby girl come with her health files? If not that is something you need to have in your hands to show your vet. Otherwise, some vaccine happy vets will do her vaccines all over since they can't verify she's up to date. Even if she just saw a vet before being placed with you, you need to take her in ASAP to have her checked out and to have all your questions answered. I know you don't want to stress your baby but the vet trip is for your own piece of mind. Kaji had 3 vet visits in a matter of a week and a half when he came home. His first was right before he was given to me, the breeder took him; his second 3 days from him coming home, and the third was on day 6 of him coming home for his neuter. I was able to ask the vet a zillion questions which really gave my mind a break. It was going a million miles a minute those first 2 weeks!

latest update: we went for a long walk today and typsy did sooooo great!!!! she has really gotten the hang of walking on a leash. one time, she was so on top of her game that the leash stayed completely slack for such a long time, i was afraid for a split second that she had somehow ran off!!!

she is still scared of other dogs. she is quiet with them, never barks, but may growl a bit if they get too close. mostly, she just tries to kind of hide behind me. she's also scared of other people walking down the street towards us.

i put her in her beautiful gunmetal kwigy bo alex bag (shout out to RYAN for the great service ) and she was chilling in there. no one even knew i had her until i said something. it's interesting b/c she will resist me when i try to zip up the bag, so i just have to make her sit and then lay down first. once she's in there, she's fine.

i also noticed that when she eats, she goes to her pee-pee pad within 2 minutes to pee and then she goes back and eats more ... it is the weirdest thing!!! how am i going to housebreak her when she doesn't even give me a chance to get her outside?!?

I do like my vet. She's reasonably priced and she always does a really thorough exam. She could use a lesson or two on bedside manner. She's blunt, but honest, and doesn't mind answering a few questions over the phone. Only big problem is... she's in IRVINE! I'm still using the vet I used when I lived there. I've been researching and researching and I have yet to find one that I'm happy with in LA. They all sound so sleazy in my immediate area.

Congradulations on your little girl. She is just adorable. My little Heidi developed a skin infection- I think it was staph and she had an odor that I couldn't get rid of. Her vet put her on antibotics and it cleared up. I adopted alittle yorkie last yr that was one and she only weighed 2.2 lbs and was so thin and her coat left alittle to be desired. After about 3-4 weeks she gained weight. The last vet visit she was 3.8 lbs which is a good weight for her. She looks alot healthier, her coat is beautiful and she acts like a completely different dog. Good luck and bless you for taking in a little rescue in need. My rescues have been just wonderful little dogs.

I don't know. She's already pad trained. You don't have very much bad weather there, but have you thought of what you would do when it was thundering & lightning & pouring down rain? Just something to think about. I do like the name Jolie. It's cute.

Awwwwwww she is sooooo cute! I think she just needs time to settle in. I use a damp warm paper towel to wash bailey's face (eyes) pee pee and feet. i do it very gently and give him a treat after so he knows it's a happy time. what are you switching her to food wise? what is she on now?
